PIKES

Pikes charges €30/person for canceling a table, so maybe we'll go eat and see what that Monday has to offer. 😓 If we don't like it, we can easily get a taxi from there and drive to Akasha or Paradise Lost. 🤷‍♂️
I had to check for myself that there is zero notice period for cancellation! That is scandalous - it’s Pikes ffs not a 3 Michelin star destination restaurant 🤯

I guess its to stop people booking multiple things for a particular day, and then cancelling the ones they don't fancy.

Causing a problem for the venue with lots of empty tables they already planned for in the kitchen.

Happens quite a bit in uk and causing problems so intro of cancelling fees or deposits

I do understand that, and have read pieces about customers doing just that (multiple bookings for one night that they decide at the time and then no show the others). That is not on.

Surely there’s a middle ground of a notice period for genuine cases of people needing to rearrange (or in this case the venue changing a previously advertised event).

Yeah it’s just the one date!

I have a ticket for 528 tomorrow. Also Groove Armada for Tues. trying to decide whether to both or which one

I've seen GA countless times over the years from full-on gigs to Lovebox specials and they always guarantee a good time. No mucking about party pleasers.

H offers something very different. Basically, the best dancefloor acid trip ever. You have to be really invested in the tunes and I get that it won't be for everyone.

I didn't stay for inside. To be honest, it was touch and go as to whether I was going to go at all, because I felt so rough. Very pleased that I made it though.

Arrived some 15 minutes into Harvey's first set and it was still fairly spacious at this point and musically quite plodding. The tempo was etched up in carefully poised increments. Personally, I thought Harvey was very pedestrian but there were still some nice moments.

Chris Rea's Loving You was one of them and then he followed it up with a dub version of Bee Gee's Tragedy, pitched right down.

The best track (for me) he played which I was able to Shazam was this one:

By now, there was a nice crowd - really super friendly and very invested in the music, but not overly busy though still busy enough. Occasionally, there was the odd person filming on their phone. Very few and far between though.

However, it was when Artwork jumped up that things got taken up a notch the the place exploded.

There was some David Morales, Rojo Sangre y Fuego, El House and a great communal moment for Frankie Knuckles Your Love.

But the favourite thing he played which was new to me was this:

Great to see some faces, including @Buckley and his missus and also some authentic Ibiza characters, such as Duzi and Lucy Fizz.

Eager to here how things progressed inside. Now, really looking forward to Monday in Freddies!

It was me you met not @Buckley 🤣.

Inside was really good from what i remember, as i was well lubricated from long day on the ale from getting to airport at 10:30am, had some soft drinks later on to perk me up a bit. My missus and her friend left at 3:30am and i stayed till gone 5ish. I remember the changeover from Artwork to Harvey was class, atleast to me, Harvey played really hard from memory, was a great night.
