He's a great artist....The Libertines wrote beautiful, melodic songs with wonderful lyrics.
BUT...he's an ill man and I think the most scandalous thing about it is the way the tabloid press have turned his life into some sort of circus when really the guy needs help.

JUNKIE BASTARD!,.....so if you take drugs only at the weekend.....what does that make you!!!!.......pot calling the kettle black!........MOST OF THE PEOPLE ON THIS BOARDS...advocate personal drug use.Petes drug taking has gotten well outta hand,no doubt he has an addictive personality,i feel soory for the guy.i remember being at the first judgement sunday in ibiza 2004,i twas drinking beer,but i would imagine the vast majority of the crowd were outta there face on "JUNKIE LIKE SUBSTANCES". NEXT YOULL BE TELLING ME....social drug use dosent lead to bigger things!.....i think not.thank your lucky stars people....that you aint suffering like mr docherty is!.

being a junkie and using on a recreational basis are clearly different things. all if not most of the people who 'advocate personal drug use' on this board hold down jobs and responsibilities but like to release at the weekend.
i don't see that a 'recreational' user with a stable life is any more likely to become a 'druggie' than a social drinker is to become an alcoholic.
and obviously i'm not talking about all substances, just party presriptions

Junkies ovbiously start taking drugs on a recreational basis!petes drug taking i would imagine is why "ONE OF THE REASONS DRUGS ARE ILLEGAL".Each to there own id say,but when someones

If you are specifically talking about Heroin, obviously it's a lot more addictive than other drugs. you've got to be fairly low to try it in the first place i think.
Maurice, alcoholics start drinking on a recreational basis too and we all know more people die from alcohol related diseases than all drugs combined each year.

ive done a few things, and Heroin aint one of em, and never will be.
he knows what he's doing to himself, but so long as he doesnt admit it himself he's screwed.
If he needs help, then he's gonna WANT TO have it.

oh yes, alcohol is legal, it's a good clean TAXABLE drug that causes no one any harm? yeah, whatever
