party-defining tunes (old and new)

Suggestions are dismissed in my own heart & mind about how long David Guetta has been 'on the scene' or "why" he's a popular DJ in the social vernacular of Gen Z'ers and old timers the same.

With "Let's Just Blame it on Love", David Guetta has set the tone for generations to follow.

If I'm appraising this album (the album is called "7") I give it a high mark for being informed as well as adherent to previous enthusiasm I have found by listening house music.

With this release (it's already several years old) David Guetta has shone a light on direction in dance music.

"7" combines aspects of house that I have always held affinity for. This song, Let's Just Blame it on Love is no exception.

Not entirely sure what that all means but I'm guessing you liked it?

The Klasse Wrecks guys were playing in town last night: Mr. Ho and Luca Lozano all night long. Breakbeat techno, acid and a fair amount of classics in an abandoned factory. Happy to see lots of youngsters without their cell phones on the floor. Lost my head when Lozano gave this a spin around 2am.

Not long after these two in the mix

To great times!

Come Inside is brilliant. Not heard alcatraz out in years. Terry Farley IIRC somewhere in the London smoke?

Keeping it nineties (just!) this features on Brewster's latest podcast. Guaranteed pandemonium where and whenever I heard it. Everything that is infectious and affirming about the dancefloor.

if you can overlook the silliness, moby did put out some killer tunes. I bought this 4 track CD in ‘93 and still have it somewhere! Fair to say certain tracks have aged better than others.. In his book Porcelain he amusingly describes going to a rave in the UK for the first time, a huge culture shock even for someone who’d lived with winos and junkies in NYC
