- Palladium Hotel Group will merge Tanit and Cala Gracio into their most luxurious hotel in Ibiza -

Are they doing this ? One of the last refuges of reasonably priced accommodation in a very good location. There really will be nowhere affordable / decent left to go very soon. Somewhere else in the Med needs to start competing properly with Ibiza. There's far too much demand being concentrated in one place.

Perhaps Coxy & Pepe should get some other investors on board, and buy that Balearic island thats going for €24m

s'Espalmador ? You wouldn't be able to do anything with it ! Plus it's so close to Formentera it's already caught up in the "trouble". Somewhere else needs to gear up and take it on.

On monday an article revealed that the Matutes group will open a Six Senses resort in San Antonio (the second one in Europe), without specifying Cala Gració.

One day later (and published on Periodico de Ibiza on wednesday) the group announced it wasn't true.

Mmmmmm......

"Meanwhile, the Palladium group , of the Matutes Group of Companies , plans to convert the Tanit hotel and the Cala Gració into a single luxury hotel, according to those responsible announced four years ago. At present, both hotels add up to 420 rooms and the Palladium project is to reduce them to about 300 by expanding its surface."

Last thing we need is Cala Gracio becoming a VIP zone. Ive never stayed in either hotel but ive walked past many times on the way to the beach and theyve always looked like decent family hotels.
