JOAN RIBAS was born in Ibiza in July of 1.963. From very young he knew clearly that its future would be related to music and with 15 years starts to collaborate with the only radio station in Ibiza. At the beginning of 80's he was working in legendary FLIP MUSIC, the first record store of the island that began to bring import music, at the same time he began to djying in the bars of Ibiza old town, mainly in AKELARRE.
In year 84 he was contracted by PACHA and there he was dj resident of uninterrupted way until year 2.000, sharing booth with PIPPI,CESAR DE MELERO, MASSIMINO, ZORRA, ALFREDO FIORITO, NELO, ANGEL FRUTOS, JOAN COMPTE, JAVA, SERGI, SUSSO, JULIAN AMOUR, ANGEL LINDE, WILLIE GRAFF, NICOLAS MATAR, MATT CASELI, SHAUN CAMPBELL and other international dj’s. In PACHA was resident dj with PITI URGELL of the legendary party FLOWER POWER (in which it continues djying) and was the creator with VAUGHAN, and resident dj during 8 years, of the PACHA FUNKY ROOM (in which still it plays music weekly).
In 2001 starts a weekly residence in CAFÉ DEL MAR and to collaborate with other great clubs and discos of the island like PRIVILEGE, LAS DALIAS, ES PARADIS, EDEN, LA DIOSA, etc, etc.... During the winter of 2003 he has been djying with the saxophonist FLORENCIO CRUZ and the guitar player PACO FERNANDEZ, and his band GENTE DEL SOL, in a tour by Central Europe and at the moment follows with his habitual residences at CAFÉ DEL MAR , PACHA FLOWER POWER and PACHA FUNKYROOM, at the same time he’s still playing his amazing soul, jazz-funk & disco music sessions at TEATRO PEREYRA.
These last years starts his work as a producer with diverse productions : "WOMEN IN THE GALLERY" - a compilation that comes out with Café del Mar label, and created and compiled for Joan for ES PARADIS disco club -, "KEEP YOU SOUL AS A CHILD" with the guitar player MANOLO DIAZ – a song for a compilation for SONY GERMANY -, "TIME FOR PEACE" with DANNY MARQUEZ of BUBBLE SOUL MUSIC, "FUNK OFF" with FLORENCIO CRUZ and MANOLO DIAZ and the last one of all of them the remix that has done with STEVIE FERNANDEZ of the song "MANI" from PACO FERNANDEZ - pending still of edition-.
