Overrated moi? Es Vive Hotel

My sentiments exactly! Although having said that I probably wouldn't choose to stay at the Mira Mola in Figueretas again. I think we could have found better accommodation for a similar price.

Jet Apartments seemed OK but I'd prefer to be nearer Ibiza Town.

Listen here, Es-Vive: -

- No kids or ordinary folk

- Wicked bar

- Close to town

- Close to Playa d'En Bossa

- Air con

- Satellite TV

- Brilliant food and service

- Great poolside area

- Massage's etc

- Club tickets

If you don't want all those things, go elsewhere - simple

Agreed on all counts, but would also like to add:

-24 hour bar

-DJs in the afternoon

-beachtowels provided (meaning more case space for clothes!)

-free porn on room tv

-hairdresser

-Free entry to Hed Kandi & pin up

& two of the nicest guys owning it in Jason & Max

I was there from Aug 11 to Aug 18 and was a bit disapointed. I've stayed at the Royal Plaza which was better. Probably try Ocean Drive or somethign similar next time.

Things i liked:

great food

free CDs/magazines

laying out at the pool

Simone and the front desk people were great

right in between Ibiza Town and Space

forgot about the free porn LOL!

things that sucked:

No air conditioning the last 24 hours i was there

fuse blew twice in my room leaving me with no power

most showers taken at nightime ranged from cold to warm water, never hot

elevator broken last 2 days

bunch of Brits who thought they were posh but were anything but

VERY small room

speakers right near my room so i'd hear the music while i'm trying to nap

only had one room cleaning in 7 days! no cleaning after 230pm and it was pretty rare that i was up and showered and gone by then.

bottom line is that because of the room cleaning issue, the lack of AC and the lack of hot water at night to take a shower really bugged me and isn't acceptable in a place that costs that much. I wouldn't rule out staying there again but would look elsewhere first.

Good

Poolside area, towells, decking, music
Food
Reception Staff

Bad

The fact that it's full of fools who think they are gods gift to clubbing. They seem to assume that simply by staying there, they are better than anyone else

I lost count of the number of people who inisited 'but i am a VERY good friend of Max/Jason". A modern twist on 'don't you know who i am'

The clinical, cold sterile bar area

Too many cokeheads

All the guys with identical clothes and hairstyles. Fashion twits the lot of them.

Pokey rooms with hardly any furniture

The porn channel is very low quality ;)

Although we never met, i can agree on some counts, specially some nobs who were making themselves heard

I actually heard them apologising to the reception for something so don't know what they'd done

In general we liked it and i'm sure it'll be buzzing tomorrow when we get there :p

I have one or two gripes but i'll not broadcast them on here

My GF and I had an amazing time in Es Vive...Max, Jason, and his crew were great to us.

Our alltime favorite "friend" who helped us out was a bartender there named D.C. (david cade). The guy was very nice and took us out a couple nights to see the real ibiza. Thanks again to him and his Slovic crew he introduced us to (Angel...the craziest mf i will ever meet!)

Now I got a baby on the way...My GF is now my wife...Will probably never get back to Ibiza anythime soon...My party days have hit a wall...But I will always remember our trip and friends we met in Ibiza :D

rustywoo, i'm wiv you

but on reviewing this thread since i started it yonks ago i think its just a case of the punter and what he/she is looking for....it is positioned perfectly for a certain sort of punter and you have to admire J & Max for pulling it off

but calling that bar happening is the stretch of a lifetime

and forget Pikes, its rusting away

We had a wicked time there, much better than August.

I have a few small gripes though:

- Staff/owners can be incredibly ignorant :x

- The bloody door key card kept failing to work (not good after a long night)

- Some visitors liked to be overheard which was quite amusing really

Will probably try somewhere else year though just out of interest.

We will definitely stay at Es Vive again but only for a week, if I am staying for longer than a week I prefer to stay in apartments as I miss having a lounge area, fridge etc.

well to be honest it sounds overrated to me from what I´ve heard several people tell me about it, but thats probably because of my priority - I couldn´t (almost) care less about where Im staying whilst in Ibiza - cuz I wanna spend my hard earned money on something else than clean sheets + I never stay at the hotel - its basically just a large walk in closet for me and a place to crash for a few hours before heading to the beach or getting sober again. I spend max 20 hours in my room last year - thank god I did´nt pay more than I did

I think it´s worth a visit cuz of its name and this seasons hed kandi parties ect....but I think it´s waaay too expensive!

you won't mind staying in pisces park then?

;)

heheheh I knew something important was missing! As you so kindly pointed out, I naturally would never stay in that shitehole once again - I just thought that this board might be slighty bored of my always dissing that place hehe! but since you brought it up: well you know the answer!

cheers honey! ;)

20 hours in your room  and I thought I managed on little sleep :p

One of the best things about staying at Es Vive for me was that you knew that the majority of people who were staying there were going to be like-minded, I work (hard :p ) all year and when I'm on holiday I don't want to be surrounded by beer boys/kids/etc.
