While there's nothing wrong with Deep Dish for me I found it a beat weak and cheap that Sharam en Dubfire only played a few nights together. Wtf is that? I wanna see Deep Dish, I do not only want the half of it. Especially if you pay 50/60 euro's for a night out...
Part of that is cos they have been getting too big for their boots and thinking people are that stupid they won't realise that only one of them is up there![]()
but the main reason for them not playing all the dates together over this summer is cos Sharam was having a baby and didn't want to do as much travelling.
That really, really sucks.
Fair enough a few people may not like Deep Dish, but they offer something different to anyone else. No one else plays their style imo.
And not to mention the others on Yo****oshi, top class producers such as Satoshi Tomie, who really is absolutely awesome whenever ive seen him live.
For me, David Guetta is simply another Bob Sinclar, and its ****ing pure tedium.
I couldn't agree more, a few years ago Pacha had a range of diverse nights (Renaissance, Perfecto, Ministry etc), now I think you could put the average punter on the streets inside Pacha on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday and they would hear pretty much the same stuff on each of those nights and probably wouldn't know a difference. At least Thursdays offered a bit of reprieve with Yo****oshi/Renaissance/Ministry doing the Thursdays nights now it's going to be the same old same old Monday thru Friday![]()
I don't know.. What you're saying is absolutley true, in theory... I liked the wednesdays far more than the mondays. While the concept is very much alike. The reason were those annoying Italians who always go en masse to Sanchez. And for the tuesdays, one of my favorite nights this year was a Defected night with Masters At Work. They played music you almost never hear on the island in such a club. Absolutley not for everyone (vocal, soulful but not cheesy) but absolutley great. With audience alike. Can't say about the fridays, didn't go there. But considering Tong's reputation you're probably right!
Anyway, Pacha needs some diversity, that's undoubtley true. Back 2 the old days!!!
Excuse me for my excessive use of 'absolutely'![]()
Which I also misspelled haha
But MAW aren't Defected artists are they - I'm MAW's biggest fan but they're very different to what you'd hear on a 'normal' Defected night and were just one-off guests. I think they had Krivit there another week in a similar vein but the rest of the weeks were just your standard Defected artists weren't they playing the same old same old![]()
I admit it, u're right. But still, Defected booked them (twice I think) which is pretty ****in' cool! But there not Defected's DJ's. Have released a few albums on Defected though![]()
What my point is, in my opinon the quality of the different nights at Pacha had more to do with the audience. Defected attracted some really nice people while I found Release Yourself a disaster. Fled to the funky room and stayed there almost all night![]()
Personally I wouldn't normally touch Defected with a bargepole but if they had someone like MAW or Krivit guesting then I'd be there like a shot.
Anyway we shall see what 2007 brings![]()
I agree. Let's leave it to this.. And see what 2007 will bring us!!
One way or another, it's gonna be exciting. Still curious what the opening hours-issue is comin' too. Do you know by any chance something new about that??
Or should I just start a new thread on this one![]()
All I've heard is what everyone else has heard - it's always rumour central isn't it at this time of year, I'll guess we'll just have to see what June 2007 brings![]()
