NIE Problem?

ubelievable but true.QUOTE]

Exactly!!

However, I really woldn't worry too much about this if you havent got an NIE - it seems it'll be easier to just employ people who already have NIEs but I'm pretty sure in practice this just wouldnt happen. All employers will know about this situation and will account for it...
PRing of any sort on the beach (last year at least) was comepletely illegal, yet does anyone remember a peacefull 10minutes by the sea without being offered some form of bar crawl ticket?!:)

A thought as to why they've done this - besides the obvious 'less admin work, mas cerveza time', I was told NIEs are such a pain in the butt to get because officially they are trying to get unemployed RESIDENTS into work, so delaying non-residents being able to start their jobs, in theory, leaves the positions open for the unemployed residents to get.

it's still accurate. cost is a little more now. 10€ i think.

All you need to know! I think another slight chnage is they no longer issue the 'tickets' while your waiting - makes life a little harder because you physically have to wait in the queue, not knowing whether you'll make it inside on that day! Also means that it really is best to have all your forms filled out and ready; if your with friends you could get the forms when they open, go get the photocopies done etc....but remember to have someone there not loosing your place in the queue!
