NEXT sales

Late reply, only just got to a PC.. not sure what's on this evening Norwichwise... working all weekend so no partying for me. Saving myself for next Saturday, Ibiza :D ..

Where do you normally go to in Norwich??

I bought a sweater on sale at Next on a London visit about 6 years ago
It was a very basic sweater so it really didn't matter what brand/store it came from.

Haven't seen anything interesting in Next since then though. :?

my girlfriend works for next. on new years day she has to be in for 4am for the sale to start at 5. there are queues in the freezing cold that start around 3am. today she got to do a late cos of the sale from 4pm -midnight.

In actual fact I managed to floor a fudge toothed pikey and nick his newly aquired dorris belt whilst fronting the smell from his wannabe mulleted bonce.

While I may not be a Next fan myself, you should know, Babs, that not everyone can afford to shop at Harvey Nichols on a regular basis.

It's not the cost of the clothes it's the fact that they're shit  And for info I very rarely shop at Harvey Nicks

I wont go to the sale because im not sad and I don’t really want to fight with the immigrants either

Oh my word. I can't believe you've just said that.

If it wasn't so offensive it'd be funny.

I absolutely hate the shop, they try and jump on whatever's fashionable bandwagon and fail miserably, the clothes look shit and these idiots that queue up at 5am in the morning I feel like saying 'FFS the clothes are cheap and shit in the first place'

NEXT sale update

Mornin peeps.

Well she went to the sale and had a grrreat time. She got loads of clobber for her daughter and a couple of bits for herself but nowt too 'frumpy'.

I tried to stay up and go and show my support but the fun stuff ran out so i just went to sleep instead 8O

I was a little disillusioned by it all so to make sure i drove us down to cambridge saturday night, got a b and b, went to a tranny bar, got some scran then found this cool little club with house downstairs "The Light Bar" (just up from the university arms) and got on it good and proper...

Faith restored.

By the by, in 1998 i brought this hoody that Jazzy B wore in one of the Soul 2 Soul videos. I considered that pretty cool at the time... i ain't shopped there much since mind

Just curious... Are there any good mid-priced places in the UK for men's clothes? The girls out here seem to like swinging through Top Shop on their London visits, but I think their guys clothes are crap.

there are. if you're bothered to shop about and look.

but most people just goto the nearest shopping centre, town, where all the shops are the same, and stock the same clothes more or less.

Tom always has the same problem, the likes of Top Man etc are shit. Reiss used to be ok but their clothes are bit sensible these days, UTH used to be good as well but they've nearly shut all those shops down

It's so much easier being a girlie

Normally poo na na's, shine, 80's or madchester nights at the waterfront, the slurrey occasionally. UEA, Waterfront, manhattans when it was open

Ended up in some soul, funk, hip hop thing with visuals :? in Imagine. Bit pretentious... then all back to mine.

I never thought Next was so bad - I have quite a lot of their stuff for plain work clothes, and they've lasted well enough..

My favourite clothing shop in London is actually the Japanese store Uniqlo, which makes really good quality, mid-priced clothing with no labels or logos on it. I do my 'label' shopping when I'm home in Sydney.. but generally speaking I'd rather spend the extra money on records so rarely buy higher priced stuff.

I have the hardest time finding decent casual stuff to where. Slightly edgy but still respectable... and without big logos or printed crap.

In Moscow, you're either buying top designer (usually overpriced because of the import duties) or you're buying crap. Very little in the middle, which is why I like shopping on trips... but the only thing I found on my last couple of visits to London were a pair of shoes and a belt from Massimo Dutti.

You better come to Spain and spend lots of money in Zara or Massimo Dutti, Inditex brands are dirty cheap here ;)
