New England Manager - Who do we want?

I don't know why any sane man would want the English manager's job  And that goes double for someone non-British!

Aside from lofty expectations, the media glare in the UK is absolutely blinding (and probably unrivaled anywhere in the world!)

Look how much crap Sven took despite a relatively successful (although trophy-less) run. Not that Sven was perfect or anything, but the media-bashing-to-performance ratio was way out of whack.

Mourinho is probably the only foreign manager who could handle the pressure - and only because he's already dealt with a similar level of media attention at Chelsea.

Must say I find it wonderfully ironic that Jose is the English public's top choice when just a few months ago he was public enemy #1 for most of you

My view is that the England team should have a 'Coach' who is focused on the tactical aspect on the pitch and a Manager / Head of Football who looks after the set-up off the pitch.

Having seen a lot of what Clive Woodward did for the England Rugby setup off the pitch, we could do a lot worse than take a leaf out of his book, or even bring him into the fold.

On the pitch though I would go for Hiddink but then he isn't available....

Exactly! And that's the fact the British public seem to completey overlook as they have too much of their opinions fed to them via the press, who are hardly going to admonish themselves for their behaviour.
