Music On 2017

Just to clarify my friends attended at 11 and left at around 5ish to catch a flight home.

It very well may have filled up towards the end ALSO no doubt there was more than 25 people there but I did state that was the number on the dancefloor.

I think Apollonia playing all night long at Amnesia would have had alot to do with it. However they apparently were on form all day and created a wicked atmosphere in El Patio.

what a shame, hope there doesn't go my chance of an afterhours after their next all night long in september :/

now that cova santa is open I think we can expect those afters to rotate between el patio and cova santa. as I've said a while ago maybe it's not weekly and maybe it's not alternating regularly, but from what I know there will be afters at both those places (not at the same time though).

and no, I wouldn't know when where so don't even ask! :)

The "afterparty" debate rages more than the VIP debate

What should we call them? Something which rolls-off the tongue a bit better than "Next Day Parties" please.

It used to be (or still is in most/a lot of places) party >> after-party >> hotel party

They aren't allowed to do this in Ibiza (unless it's a super private, isolated villa party which you need to be well-connected/fortunate enough to go to, so let's just leave that to one side for the time being)

So why not just swap the hotel party and "after-party" around, and voila, continuous antics! Problem solved.

This is what I do. Didn't realise it was such an issue. Maybe because I never really experienced the proper after-party culture (in Ibiza), so I don't really miss it.

The authorities are a million miles away from allowing proper afters immediately after the event.

In any case, if it's a ticketed event it's not really an afterparty anyway. It's just another money spinner.

Getting back to the hotel, ordering another drop-off and chatting absolute bollocks is way more fun than zombie-littered afterparties anyway

well yeah, here it's simply changed a bit. we almost often go home after the main party at the club, carry on a little at home (including having a shower, change into shorts and flipflops, even eat something) and THEN go to the afters. once you're used to that you'll actually start to like it because you get to the afters just that little fresher and having a little break in between will make you appreciate the afters even more. at least to me and my friends, that's how we perceive it.

the whole discussion about how you call those parties that for legal reasons just can't start before 12 noon or sometimes even 4pm is bullshit IMO. fact is, the actual political decision to ban afterhours 10 years ago has backfired - instead of having the afterparty crowd nicely together at one place (space), you now have afterhours left right and centre...and sometimes, I have to admit that, in places where I think 'wow, afterhours here?' - in residential areas, sometimes even places that are close to nature reserves etc.

I know the whole idea of afterparties has changed a bit in terms of what time you hit the afters. but the fact remains and that alone is a big middle finger up to the government - you cannot stop people having a good time. people will always find a way and currently it's villas, villas and more villas. I am personally really not sure the government that decided to ban the afterhours a decade ago would have done it, had they known what would happen eventually.

ps - sorry for thread hi jacking.

amnesia website says midnight. as far as I know the only event at amnesia that starts at 11pm every week is elrow.

What can I say? I'm not a huge Music On fan, not a fan of meandering go no where techno. But Claude, Stacey and Marco pulled it off. Claude I was interested in seeing on that Amneisa terrace and he played 10× better than at paradise last year.He played some interesting techno rather than anything funky. Stacey was great as well, main room ended too early IMO.
Party went till 745! Officially the longest I've been at Amnesia!
