Music On 2017

I noticed on Amnesia that it looks like they have a count of how many tickets are available....maybe wrong but it does seem very limited based on capacity

forget that ticket count - it's just allocations, not the real capacity.

I understand the concept of supply and demand however as human beings surely the guys at Music On must have some moral rationalism and understand it's not fair to charge these prices; also it's not like Amnesia has a limited capacity which causes for ticket prices to be inflated. This is partly the reason I will not be flying out to the Island this summer; every year that extra €5 - €10 is added on to tickets.

I still love the island but I don't think I am getting value for money compared to how I used to; for example I purchased a Music on Festival ticket in Amsterdam and a Turin Kappa Futur Festival ticket for a combined cost of around £60.

seriously, the free guestlist for music on is one of the smallest on the whole island.

Indeed. But the one we were talking out - the reduced admission one - is one of the longest.

And the deadline is about 2am isn't it? So the money you save on the door is merely being handed over the bar. False economy.

Seen a group of guys who queued in front of me (for half hour+) and when they got to the front their names weren't there. So they got sent to the other queue. I assume they ended paying more on the door than they would if they'd bought tickets in advance

correct yeah. if you are on that one you need to be there before 1am to be sure you're in by 2am. of course it's still half the price and if you're going with some friends you might not mind the wait but else...meh.

Mind you, I'm thinking with my pre-2016 season head.

If 7am is light-ups and music-off, maybe it isn't so bad having to arrive that early. Certainly better than paying €70-80 for a few hours of dancing.

Before that my strategy would always be arrive between 3-4am. Main room until 6-7am. Then terrace 'til close.

What is the Main Room like these days? i.e. Assume not so packed you can't move? Did anyone catch one of the Apollonia All Night longs last season? Any idea if they will do more next season?

Hopefully them or paco osuna play the second 'pre-season' party

I've honestly not been to music on at all last summer, but from what I've heard it's also very busy in there now. not terrace-packed though.

I went to two music on parties last summer - 9th September and the closing party 1.

9th September was an Apollonia 'all night long' set and the main room was at a very comfy level for the entire night. Busy, but not packed. The terrace for both (particularly the closing as you can imagine) was rammed to the rafters, all the way past the back bar right up the stairs.

It is extremely busy, but if you know Amnesia well and find the right spots its bearable.

Marco Faraone on twitter hinting he will be involved again.

Hopefully moreso. Rate him

Music on is rammy Sweaty, u have to be a feucking drugged sheep, if very willing to go there & pay 70-80€

I like the steps to the bar at the DJ booth end of the terrace. Since most people are there to "see" Carola, and that position isn't much of a view, I find there is often space there (and still close enough to the thick of the action). Also to the left of the terrace as you face the DJ booth, by the photo place - normally more space there.
