Alcohol: Offcially not allowed, but there are loads of bars and a few clubs, Pacha Included. Most bars are attached to a restaurant but you can bar hop if you know your way around. I got drunk loads!!:D

Jah Mahal was my favourite bar. Gorgeous.

how much do you reckon I'll need spending money for a couple of weeks of fairly cheap living? (tourist spots, drinking, beaches, desert trips)

I went to Morocco a few years back and thought it was great! i'm wondering if the people who went who didn't enjoy it had only been on package-beach type holidays before?

Marakesh had a great atmosphere, Essouira (sp?) seaside place was great Fez... all great places... did a hike in the Atlas mountains for a couple of days.

i would highly receommend morocco! :)

I reckon you could get by on a grand. You can eat a meal in many cafes for a quid or two. But try and stick to vegetarian based stuff unless you're sure of the place.

I hired a guide to take me out fo a day into the mountains and it cost me £160 including his jeep and petrol, but i know if you do it in a group it's much, much cheaper.

Get the time out guide or the HG2 guide

hmm... I was hoping to get by on about £500 inc accom but then I am being cheap.

Will pick up a guide book this weekend and have a look. Cheers for all your help!

I was In Morroco in March

I stayed in Agadir though which is more of a beach resort and is quite different to Marrakech for example. Less culture and more beach with a far more liberal attitude

Enjoyed because food and beach were nice but it is pretty low key. However there were quite a few clubs and I was told because it was March it was quiet but n June July it becomes really busy

Went to Marrakech on a day trip and loved it. The bustle, the sounds the smells...its like being in a completely different world. Would love to spend a few days there.
