Missing...

What's her instagram name?

I recon the only way the truth will come out about this is in about 15 years time after they've done their stretch in the Peru jail and feature on a banged up / locked up abroad program.
They seem to give off this impression that they will be getting off because they claim to be forced into it. I dont really buy it tbh.

As mentioned by a few in this thread... My moneys on them getting into selling pills, moving onto taking them coke etc on the tick from a dealer on the isle and racking up a debt - which obviously, could be wiped out and /or earn them a bit of a brucey bonus in the bargain.

Looking through her Instagram, I find it very sad how such a young girl who was clearly enjoying her life and partying away like thousands have done in the past, can throw it all away and become mixed up in something so crazy. Her family must be absolutely devestated. Not excusing what she has done, she must face the consequences and learn from it all, but I actually feel sorry for the girl. We all make **** ups in our lives. We all would say we deserve another chance. She'll get it one day. Whether she understands and appreciates that only time will tell.

Looking closely at her Instagram ...

She's got to have brought on the biggest case of Ibiza Blues imaginable. For all those who manage to steer a middle course others go down spectacularly when they get into drugs and the more I look at it the more it seems that's what's happened here.

One of the comments on Reid's carelessly 'public' Instagram pic with the guy in the Italia vest ...

It's just one comment but in cases like this that's probably all it takes to swing opinion. Yes dad, never took drugs I promise. Most people who understand the reference are going to assume is that she didn't have the bottle to be truthful, even with her father, or own up to the most basic aspects of the choices she's made. The defence definitely sounds like something originally made up whilst completely off one's t*ts - and I reckon they probably thought it would be credible and effective excuse right up until the time they were underway (or caught). When you don't have all your faculties firing on all cylinders it's easy to make errors of judgement and get carried away. Their decision to follow through and not back out of the drug transportation will likely be mirrored with a decision (having told a story) to stick with it - as once started the consequences of contradicting themselves mid-stream on their credibility once they get out after all this media coverage are pretty dire.

But if they've told porkies about never having agreed to go the best thing to do would almost certainly be to own up in court now and go for as short a sentence as they can - and the prisoners who've gone before them for this have all said that's what to do. They may have feared for their lives but it still doesn't make smuggling huge amounts of coke on the plane 'OK'. Even if they were being watched and all the rest they were not chaperoned all the time, they had cash and there is still a British embassy in Lima (Miraflores actually - close to the hotel they were in) which if you trusted no-one local you could always flee to for sanctuary and help. Telling their story there before turning up at the airport with cases full of drugs would almost certainly have got them helped !

Going back to the start, part of the deal of indulging in excess is accepting that this demands you take responsibility for the consequences of your choices and actions. Can't keep blaming other people for misfortune or what happens to you in life when you get involved in what's basically systematic criminal activity (whatever one's view of whether it should or shouldn't be) at whatever level. It's playing with fire from within and from outside - people get burned all the time in all sorts of ways. I think most people are aware of that and exercise a bit of judgement and caution as a result.

Honestly reckon they got lulled into a false sense of security with what they saw going on and what they think they saw others getting away with and decided they'd have a bit of that for themselves. Although perhaps taking a long view and hoping to salvage a 'wronged innocent' outcome back home when they finally get free of the Peruvian authorities I just hope their attempts to externalize all blame for this don't wind up costing them dearly.

That's maximum though, they won't serve that.

Still find this more hilarious than anything, I'm of the view that they knew entirely what they were doing and got caught out. No sympathy for people that full of themselves.

Not one to preach as I am no saint but this is a lesson that might make the next potential smuggler think twice . If your stupid enough to take the risk you deserve to get caught. Feel sorry for the family's . Watch banged up abroad and that will scare care pants out of anyone !

Charged. No bail. Off to jail within a day. No surprises there.

Here's a tribute recorded earlier ...
