Missing topic

as i've already said stuie, i never even saw the other post. i have to work every now and again.
i can not be everywhere every second of the day, but by and large i only delete posts which could cause offence or upset - let's face it you were quick enough off the mark wanting maurice's posts deleted because the entire combined spotlight debating club couldn't match any of his arguments.

i'm not arrogant and i'm not illogical and i can't see why anyone should be upset because i deleted a post that has no relevance to the aims of our site.

maurices posts and a cancer awareness post have what in common exactly?

what post in open chat does have relevance to the aims of your site?

true. open chat does not further our aim of attracting people to ibiza. it was inaugurated as a place to chat about other topics - however these do not include anything which may cause offence to the man on the clapham omnibus.

as we are all different some things which you may find quite normal others may find offensive. i just happen to be the arbiter of what is or isn't on this site.

that's just something we have to live with.

would you be kind enough to elaborate on why you thought this particular post would cause offense to any of the people that would of clicked on it, had you not deleted it?

and would more people be offended by that post than any of the other 80 cancer related threads currently on the forum?

social problems maybe. tad racist most definately. can 99% be certain that the tone of his post were inflamatory. i can see it, cos ive encountered enough of them people in my lifetime who make sly digs about people.

I think, Stephen, that what is upsetting to some is the random nature of the deletion. It does seem unfair that just because you happen upon a post which doesn't meet the strict criteria you set, it is deleted.

Open Chat is there to talk about things other than Ibiza, it has developed into a cool, funny, interesting community. In return for answering 'how does the disco bus work?' type questions for the umteenth time, which alot of us do, cut us a little slack.

well now that the irrigation post has been pointed out to you, why is it still there?

Taking your previous comments regarding the cancer post into consideration, the colonic irrigation post should be deleted now?

Maybe "About anything you want" (below the Open Chat link) should be changed to something that emphasises that you don't want random non-ibiza related discussions? :idea:
