I agree with most of what you said, and disagree with a few things. I hadn't been to Get Lost before, mainly because last year my friends wanted to see Prydz, Voorn and Kolsch at Space Friday night and that ended at like 11am Saturday morning (I wanted to go to, but i was trying to prioritize Get Lost) Now that it finally happened this year, I prioritzed Get Lost as the main focal point of my entire WMC. I drove down Wednesday after work (i live in tampa which is 4hrs away) and got to Bardot for Bob Moses and Roman Flugel. We didnt want to do anything too crazy Wednesday since 2 had flown in after work on Wednesday, and the other 3 of us had driven from Tampa. So we stayed from about 1:30am-4:30am and it was VERY packed, a bit annoyingly so. For Bob M we had to stand pretty far off to the side to have room to dance at all. Turned out great though. Thursday, it seemed everyone went to Paradise...I am a huge H.O.S.H. and Kolsch fan so we went to Treehouse to see both. It was empty early, and empty late, and decently busy for about the peak 2 hours. H.O.S.H. had the set of the entire trip for me here, and Kolsch who was playing the late night set (3-5 i think), we got to dance with about 10 people total at the end to him for 30-40 mins. I love those moments actually. Friday was the start of the madness, my GF went to Ultra just to check out Armin, Kaskade, and Carl Cox and then met all of us out at Trade for Maceo Plex/Agoria/Ellen Allien. The room upstairs for Maceo is quite large and it was RAMMED, the bottom floor before MAceo was nicely filled and Ellen Allien really did a great job warming up the party and she was certainly having a blast in the dj booth. Agoria was very good as well following her, but Maceo started 30 minutes after he did. After Maceo finished at 430 and started going b2b with Danny Daze i think? We left and went straight to Get Lost. It was a little slow in letting people in, but Sasha was playing some really sasha-esque late night material and there were maybe 100 people in the room from 5-7. It was quite amazing. I went home around 730am. Saturday rolled around and I got to Get Lost at 7pm and stayed all the way to 430am. Besides Guy Gerber who i consistently find boring, everyone was great. Cassy b2b DJ Sneak was really something else, they had the entire room dancing hard. Three played an amazing set later in the night and then went b2b2b with Bedouin and Damian Lazarus. Kolsch had a great set as well at peak time. Damian's set outside to close the outdoor stage was really really good as well. Carl Craig stuck around to dance in the dj booth with him for most of the set.
Now the point i disagreed with was that you thought Get Lost's vibe wasn't as good as normal (unless you just meant Miami as a whole) But the vibe at Get Lost is how i imagine Circoloco back in its hey day. I thought it was absolutely fantastic. If you meant Miami seemed down overall in general, then yes i would agree. BPM is stealing some of the thunder from WMC. It's very hard to do both, I live in Tampa which besides living in Miami or Orlando is probably the easiest place to be able to pull off doing both in one year, and i still havent managed to make it to BPM yet. I've been to WMC i think 6 years in a row now, id agree that its been slightly down the past two years...but if you pick and choose your parties wisely i think you can still have an amazing experience. Get Lost was definitely the party of the week.
