Who's all going? I will be there starting on Wednesday, leaving Sunday. I have a ticket for Get Lost already, and plan to be there at some point Saturday but still waiting for all the parties to get announced to figure out a final plan...hoping Diynamic will return after missing 2015!

Wed - Mon myself, grabbed a super early Paradise ticket as they were one of the highlights last year and also Mana Wynwood is just a great venue although they seem to be relocating this year. I've heard some rumors that Diynamic might be taking over Trade on Friday, but no solid evidence of that being true so doesn't hold any weight just yet. Otherwise hoping to see Dusky back at Treehouse this year and hoping Moon Harbour has a showcase somewhere as Im very heavy on Matthias Tanzmann's work (especially lately including that essential mix dropped a few weeks ago).

Well the Megathread turned out to be not so mega, i guess noone really went this year...but Get Lost turned out to be the best party i have ever been to..anywhere. The venue was absolutely amazing, the lineup was obviously ridiculous, and the crowd was completely up for it and it was an absolutely perfect party. I was there from 5-730am and then 7pm-4am, fantastic all around.

My friends live in miami they go under aqua booty name do some really good party's and gave Dixon his first gig in the states many years ago as part of the OFF wmc . This was when Diddy and pool party's kinda killed the proper parties.i think he played in Dennys..and they have some good pictures of Harvey doing back yard wrestling.

Dixon played

Get Lost was amazing again although still think it was at it's best at Ice Palace :)

The Soundgarden boat party on Tuesday was great fun and heard some fantastic music at the Do Not Sit by the Ocean, especially loved Atish, Bedouin, Behrouz and Lee Burridge. Roll on 2017...

I wasnt there for get lost at the ice palace, but ive been to the ice palace and i have seen other people's opinions of that night and i cant even imagine how the ice palace would come close to stacking up to that party. I and many others absolutely hate that venue

I thought this year was lacking a little bit overall especially vibe wise. One problem i see is with trying to split time between south beach itself and downtown/Wynwood is a real pain in the ass, although the variation is great, going back and forth just sucks (and i did it 3 out of 5 days). Still enjoyed myself but not 100% I will be returning for next year. Albeit midweek, but one example was Dusky at Treehouse was going off until 5am last year and this year it was virtually dead after they finished their set, even started to die a little towards the end of it. Paradise was awful, the side room was a joke and it was 100 degrees in the place, opted to leave and catch the end of Appolonia and caught a solid 5 hours of Marco on the terrace. Elrow was good fun and the music was real good but the party was never too crowded which i guess good and bad. Surprisingly caught some of the best music at pool parties this year. Mood day had Guti -> Damian Laz -> Pan Pot -> Carl Craig and i didnt even bother to stay for Moud, because all 4 of those sets were incredible. Otherwise Sunday School was pretty good fun also with really nice early sets from Waff and Ryan Crosson, and later Guti, Cassy, and Luciano played good sets as well. Was interested to make it over to Trade for the rain out version of Last Resort but passed out as the week took its tole on me.

interesting one that comment above.

with having 3 big festivals now in the area in 3 months (bpm, the one in st. martin and miami), is it maybe too much in too little time and people just do one of those three?

I dont think St Martin is really a contender yet and truly affected Miami. I do think there is a little competition factor going on between BPM and MMW/WMC when perhaps there should'nt be. However, it is a fact that dj's are skipping Miami and in a lot of cases picking BPM for several reasons (one of the biggest being € to MXN is fantastic and mexico is generally cheap, € to usd is not as great and miami is generally very expensive). Promoter friends and people on other message boards down in Miami have constantly stated the difficulty in booking dj's for MMW over the last few years which is why you see a lot of djs (Guti, Cassy, Matthias Tanzmann, etc) playing so many parties which is necessarily bad but a truth none the less.

Not to write a whole article, but i went to both BPM and MMW this year as i did last year. I find BPM getting stronger and Miami a bit on the decline. One of my main arguments for BPM is simply that everything is walking distance and it makes thing so much easier. I've never experienced Ibiza 10+ years ago and only in the last 5, but a lot of people say Playa during BPM has an old Ibiza feel. It's a lot more carefree and much less showy than Miami. Another thing is BPM is sort of organized chaos which I like, for example Marco Carola's beach party he just decided he would a 7+ hour set rather than his allotted time so they pushed a text via their app and said "marco decided to do a 2-close set, so hurry and get down early. Miami is still a good time, but it is very expensive and just cabs only this year even splitting with people cost quite a bit and I dont mind doing a long walk, but you cant walk from downtown to south beach. If i was to go back again to MMW/WMC next year I would probably be a little more selective with my parties but i feel i always say that and then get coaxed into going to 10 parties in 4 days...

I agree with most of what you said, and disagree with a few things. I hadn't been to Get Lost before, mainly because last year my friends wanted to see Prydz, Voorn and Kolsch at Space Friday night and that ended at like 11am Saturday morning (I wanted to go to, but i was trying to prioritize Get Lost) Now that it finally happened this year, I prioritzed Get Lost as the main focal point of my entire WMC. I drove down Wednesday after work (i live in tampa which is 4hrs away) and got to Bardot for Bob Moses and Roman Flugel. We didnt want to do anything too crazy Wednesday since 2 had flown in after work on Wednesday, and the other 3 of us had driven from Tampa. So we stayed from about 1:30am-4:30am and it was VERY packed, a bit annoyingly so. For Bob M we had to stand pretty far off to the side to have room to dance at all. Turned out great though. Thursday, it seemed everyone went to Paradise...I am a huge H.O.S.H. and Kolsch fan so we went to Treehouse to see both. It was empty early, and empty late, and decently busy for about the peak 2 hours. H.O.S.H. had the set of the entire trip for me here, and Kolsch who was playing the late night set (3-5 i think), we got to dance with about 10 people total at the end to him for 30-40 mins. I love those moments actually. Friday was the start of the madness, my GF went to Ultra just to check out Armin, Kaskade, and Carl Cox and then met all of us out at Trade for Maceo Plex/Agoria/Ellen Allien. The room upstairs for Maceo is quite large and it was RAMMED, the bottom floor before MAceo was nicely filled and Ellen Allien really did a great job warming up the party and she was certainly having a blast in the dj booth. Agoria was very good as well following her, but Maceo started 30 minutes after he did. After Maceo finished at 430 and started going b2b with Danny Daze i think? We left and went straight to Get Lost. It was a little slow in letting people in, but Sasha was playing some really sasha-esque late night material and there were maybe 100 people in the room from 5-7. It was quite amazing. I went home around 730am. Saturday rolled around and I got to Get Lost at 7pm and stayed all the way to 430am. Besides Guy Gerber who i consistently find boring, everyone was great. Cassy b2b DJ Sneak was really something else, they had the entire room dancing hard. Three played an amazing set later in the night and then went b2b2b with Bedouin and Damian Lazarus. Kolsch had a great set as well at peak time. Damian's set outside to close the outdoor stage was really really good as well. Carl Craig stuck around to dance in the dj booth with him for most of the set.

Now the point i disagreed with was that you thought Get Lost's vibe wasn't as good as normal (unless you just meant Miami as a whole) But the vibe at Get Lost is how i imagine Circoloco back in its hey day. I thought it was absolutely fantastic. If you meant Miami seemed down overall in general, then yes i would agree. BPM is stealing some of the thunder from WMC. It's very hard to do both, I live in Tampa which besides living in Miami or Orlando is probably the easiest place to be able to pull off doing both in one year, and i still havent managed to make it to BPM yet. I've been to WMC i think 6 years in a row now, id agree that its been slightly down the past two years...but if you pick and choose your parties wisely i think you can still have an amazing experience. Get Lost was definitely the party of the week.

I did mean Miami as a whole as i never have made it over to Get Lost, which seems like this year was a mistake. Im actually a very big Anjunadeep guy (is prob some of the only true deep house i listen to) and their party was pretty special in 2014 and 2015, this year that was not the case, it was actually pretty terrible due to overcrowding, generally a shitty crowd, and sound issues on top of it. I personally love Miami and think it has a lot of good options overall but just have been feeling a little bit of a decline over the last few years (I've been 4 years running now). It seems Get Lost was really the move this year.

and i still havent managed to make it to BPM yet

This kind of sucks, unless of course you dont care. The reason i say that is because even though the vibe doesnt seem too compromised YET, bigger parties are started to get real overcrowded and this year (2017) will be the 10 year anniversary. I think i am actually going to opt to go the full 10 days, likely just stay in Playa first 7/8 and then head to Tulum and just very carefully pick and chose my parties. Like I said I do love Miami and have had a lot of fun over the years at WMC/MMW, but i think for anything relative to North America as a whole, BPM is pretty unmatched.

I was completely in for going in 2014 but my main friend was going to go couldnt because of work. Then this year i started a new job on january 3rd, so i obviously couldnt take off for bpm right away. Im pretty in for next year, although it sounds like tulum and the parties in the jungle are the best part?

50/50, in my opinion the daytime parties/venues for BPM are the best. Tulum has some good parties but its less of a party environment generally speaking. I plan on spending a little more time towards the end of the trip in Tulum this year and just kind of mellowing and doing less partying (likely catch Solomun day after BPM ends as he always seems to be around).

Now for my question, you mentioned you caught Damian Laz at Get Lost, check the track at at 109:30 on IN the Mood 100 Part 1. Curious if he played it and if he did, do you know it? Because it is a bomb.

I went to Ultra this year along with parties from both MMW and WMC the following week. I've been going to Miami for several years now and I have to say this was the strongest year if you ask me.

I attended:
Friday: Sirius XM Lounge, Ultra and Elrow.
Saturday: Ultra and Dirtybird party at The Gale hotel.
Sunday: Ultra and Space Miami closing party.
Monday: Kill your idol (free small WMC event) and back to Space for the same party I went to before (it lasted 30 hours total lol).
Tuesday: Ocean's 10 and Clevelander for WMC parties.

I had a pretty solid weak of all things tech. Only parties I actually bought tickets for was Elrow ($12.86) and Space ($41). Ultra too obviously ($315). Granted drink prices were pretty high ($10 dollar beers at clubs ). Transportation I relied on Uber/Lyft to get around plus some of those $10 shuttles to Ultra. I avoided regular cabs at all costs and only took one to go from Wynwood to Sobe ($30).

I've never been to BPM but I may go next year and see how it compares. While Miami loves the pretentiousness and VIP stuff all the events I went to had no dress code and amazing music. I think MMW/WMC is very much alive and strong, in fact I'd say I had as much fun this year as I did in Ibiza back in 2014 (my only time so far). Ultra is getting better in relation of last few years, although I don't think I'll go back. Is much cheaper to just attend 24 hour parties and pay a fraction of the cost.

Looking forward to Ibiza 2016 and see how things compare this year.

I do not know this song but i can say with 100% certainly that this was played. I genuinely cant guarantee you it was Damian that played it, but i for sure know i heard this at Get Lost. Get Lost is called Get Lost for a reason and i honestly cant remember who played what, but i can remember Damian played a fairly psychadelic set and if i had to narrow it down it was either him, Carl Craig or Kolsch that played it..and yes its high end...thanks for reminding me of it!
