Mambo/N8 et al

All went well once again, but i was quite saddened, let me explain ........

I was sat in the waiting room when i overheard my therapist having a conversation with a physio about a woman she'd just done a colonic on who has lung cancer.

After a couple of minutes the woman came through and sat beside me. She was obviously extremely ill. She looked 50+ but i was guessing she was much younger. She had lost most of her hair too.

Her husband then turned up to attend the physio with her. They seemed like such a nice couple.

Anyhow, my therapist was telling me a little about her. It turns out she's only 38 and has never touched a cigarette in her life. I said how cruel this was, especially for someone who has chosen a healthy lifestyle.

I asked my therapist what her chances were to which she said very slim, but because of her fortnightly colonics her suffering was greatly reduced and her white cell counts(?) were MUCH higher than anyone else the doctors had seen.

I felt almost ashamed that i was having the treatment for such minor reasons, yet to the person before me it helped make the difference between a more comfortable remaining moments of her life.

I came out of there with a different perspective on things.

Very sad

That is very depressing, especially since I smoke (what lies ahead?) :?

Drew, time to cheer yourself up with a bacon double cheeseburger and a cold pint of lager. :D

Drew,

Thats a really sad story and like you say puts it all into perspective somewhat :?

I used to be a drug rep specialising in Parkinson's disease in Hospitals.
I sometimes sat there waiting to see the consultant to "peddle my ware's" and would get called in ahead of some really needy people. It felt so wrong to be sat there making money for a big pharma company when those outside needed his time more (they obviously were seen, I hasten to add).

The positive you have to say is that if there were not people like yourself going in for the CI (and there will be far more in your situation than hers) then there might not be so many clinics, meaning less accesability to services like this woman needed :?:

Very true!

I really hope she makes it, my mum's best friend died of lung cancer in her early 30's. She was an amazing person.

and crusty boogers from the kid that made it.
I'm talking about restaurant burgers, not MacFood.

Starlite Diner in Moscow makes a killer bacon bleu cheese burger. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it

(Notice: colonic thread officially hijacked  )

I'll be like a spring lamb tomorrow then

:D

Drew, honestly did you feel any different in the days following ?? And do you eat as much red meat now, if so how often :?:

I can 'hand on heart' say i felt great! and still do.

The most noticable immediate difference was a very flat stomach. Some older jeans i wear for work were beginning to feel a little tight  but now they hang so low i look like a rapper

I don't and never have eaten much red meat. I would say i eat 2 steaks a year and that's about it. The only 'meats' i eat are fish, chicken and turkey.

Hope that helps.

Cheers pal. The only gripe I've got is that here there isn't much choice, theres only one salon here. Should that put me of ?? I mean can it go wrong :?

Bit of info that may be useful to you which my therapist posted on another site: -

There are 2 professional organisations with very similar web addresses, they are:-

www.colonic-association.com

and

www.colonic association.org

If you want to read up all about Colon Hydrotherapy, and search for a safe therapist, please look at these 2 sites.

In order to be registered by either of these 2 sites a therapist must be proffesionally qualified, correctly insured, have their clinic inspected and passed, have completed 1 year of supervised probationary practice, and maintain annual continued professional development training.

Cheers man, will look into it.

Sorry to hear of that couple, shocking.
