Why are they called looky looky men?

Cause they say "looky looky" as if to say 'look at my stuff'.

I find the men quite amusing, they kept calling my boyfriend 'big bad boy' which amused us all holiday.

They must have seen us as coming as we really weren't prepared for something like that. Have definately learnt from that experience.

I didn't have any trouble with them and was solo much of my trip, so I figure I was good bait. I even "associated" with a looky looky in a time of need and had no trouble. Take everyone's advice though and just avoid them....Not a big deal, don't stress about it

............why don't you just try to be friendly....we all talk about having an open mind in Ibiza...but when it comes down to a few Africans trying to make a few bucks.......you all clam up.........ever tried a few words of Arabic (Muslem)........I greet them all in Arabic and talk about African footballers......within seconds we are all smiling.........and they stop trying to sell me stuff..........if you've had a hard time with them....just think up ......did you try to communicate with them ?......or just dismiss them like a Big Issue seller ?...

When i worked for Bar M i was always surrounded by the Looky Looky men, especially when flyering up and down the strip.

They did my head in at first and seemed quite intimidating, but as i got to stand with the same old faces they were really friendly!

They were quite useful late at night too when i was flyering on my own at 3-4am! I would always get random minging old men (mainly from germany or USA??!) swagger up to me after they'd been out and would try and grab me etc....the looky looky men always sorted them out for me!
