Bora Bora Disco Annoys Neighbours.

The famous day time Bora Bora disco on the Playa den Bossa news was reported by the Diario de Ibiza newspaper to be annoying the neighbours & businesses in it's vicinity. The neighbours are apparently claiming that Bora Bora does not control it's clients as they come & go from the disco, especially when it closes at midnight, & they are fed up with the antisocial behaviour & bad image these clubbers give the area. Parking & traffic in the area is also seemingly chaotic also apparently due to lack of control by the police & the disco which seemingly does not control where their clients, which can number several thousand, park. The neighbours claim they have suffered enough over the years because of Bora Bora & now want the authorities to take some firm action to make the disco respect the rights of the neighbours in the area.

well naturally it would be bora bora causing the problems in pdb and not space because rossello's club never causes any problems right?

Space have a car park dont they???

yes they do, but the cars getting to the car park cause traffic and the article refers to anti-social behaviour aswell.

but a big difference is surely that loads of peeps leave Bora Bora at the same time
Space ... peeps leave at different times

If you have too much cars you have to build more roads...

People complain about cars and next day they spray "NO VOLEM AUTOPISTA" to the nearest wall? If you don´t want more roads you will have more traffic jams...

Have you been in the car park behind the La Sirena department store? It is like a second runway, it is HUGE :!: There really isn´t a parking problem.

Solution for this is simply forgetting those stupid noise restrictions after 12pm. If they let Bora Bora keep going until 6am - people won´t have to leave at the same time ;)

In general, I agree.... but this is Bora Bora we are talking about!

And who are these residents anyway? Isn't the place completely surrounded by Jet apartments and a few shops?

Perhaps it's the developer of that new building next door behind this 'protest'... making waves now to get the place curtailed in time to boost selling prices for those apartments!

I totally agree there are congestion problems around Bora Bora, the surrounding area is packed with gangs of people (mainly Spanish and Italian when I was there) after it closes and the parking is horrendous, but I didn't see anything that would suggest anti social behaviour compared to Brits in San An for example.
Gangs of people stood around talking, not harming anyone, no fighting, not even especially noisy apart from the odd car stereo cranked up wouldn't suggest a problem to me.
The guests staying in the surrounding area for the most part would not be in bed at that time, more likely getting ready to go out!
I really hope this isn't a case of Bora Bora getting too popular as it was going off every night of my 2 trips this year.

Pin-Up, Ancient People, Bora Bora??????????????? Hope not.

Bora Bora shut down within the next 18 months i betcha.

Taking too many customers from space for their ultimate own good i reckon...

shame.

Obviously with all the publicity its getting, visitors are flocking there. Everyone says its a must and after all, it's free!

I reckon its just a matter of time before the (bora bora) party is over.

I hope not for a long time ,. and at least not this year, because what will we do everyday late afternoon!!!!

... 13 days till my paradise begins....

none of your points make sense. obviously you dont give a shit about the real needs of the island and what the locals want for their beloved island. tourists like you who come here only for a week have to understand that the people who live here all year round dont want to see everything spoilt to have more roads so you can arrive to mambo for sunset 5 minutes earlier. and you have to understand that most of the locals have to wake up early to work so the noise restrictions are necessary!!

as vienna said - you are only a guest so be a bit more respectful..........

how about the people who live above the restaurant es daus? or above the bar tantra? or above granja dunes/seven/anfibios/etc?

although it was rumoured that florencio (the owner of the jet complex) was interested in those apartments - apparently the new géminis complex is actually co-owned by a german constructor and the owner of the land so yes, bora bora will have some problems because these apartments will be privately owned like the ones next to the disappeared pin-up..........

lets remember that it was florencio who didnt want to re-new the contract to ancient people, so the same could happen to bora bora if the neighbors are against it :!:

McSerious,
off to la cama.

So I could be right! It makes sense for them to get people up in arms now so that, when the apartments are completed, they won't have any problems selling them at whatever inflated price. Not necessarily sinister... just business. Still... it's Bora Bora!

And, Mr McSerious, I hope you know that most intelligent people, myself included, do all they can to respect the local residents in places where they go for vacation (and don't always receive that respect in return). I will, one day, become at least a seasonal resident. At least, that's the plan right now, so I'm sure I'll eventually be taking up riteous causes like campaigning against that super-highway.

Keep in mind, however, that the island makes a living as a vacation resort, so that which keeps the tourists happy should also be considered.

here we go again..........

on a curious note florentino (not florencio as i said before  ) is the man behind the wines arzuaga (and close friend of the infamous moustached ex-president of the spanish government) - thats why you see so many ads of his wine around playa den bossa!! ;)
