What more do you need in life than a leisure centre and a rectory

It is unbelievable what you get for your money up north though.
Buckley said:Even in cities? I thought Manchester prices in half decent areas were similar to London now, even if only to surburban properties?
jjinit said:You still gonna watch City if you live down here then??![]()

East London is looking the most tempting, plus that's where most people I know down there live. The prices are frightening though, but not too dissimilar from the West End of Glasgow, where I currently live.
jjinit said:have you seen jamo's off? distin next probably, not too big a blow as we have richards and now onuoha looks like he;s nearly fit. we may be getting Trabelsi and Issakson too, what ya think?
MARKB said:North ain't half as cheap as many southerners think to be honest. (And I'm talking about the real north not the midlandslike Manchester)
Some areas of Newcastle cost up to £1000,000 for a terraced house in areas such as jesmond and I saw a new build house in a cul de sac last week that was up for £990k in Sunderland.
It's all, generally, to do with desirable areas whatever part of the country you're from.
It is geneally cheaper, but not to the degree eberyone thinks.

DJNC said:I don't think it's desirability.....But is the difference in punters....
The North - Charge 'em more, they're thick so they'll pay...
The South - Charge 'em more, cos they earn more and need to live here....

Drew said:This is not always the case nowadays either.
Some of my friends/acquaintances earn VERY good salaries who say they would be paid exactly the same wherever they were based.
I would imagine small northern towns would never catch up but the cities seem to be booming economically.
