Looking back, what a wild year it's been!
I've traveled to 7 countries (will be 8 by year-end), and visted or flown across every time zone this year 8)
I've seen/met/talked to people of tens of different nationalities over the course of the year, from Tlingut to English, Spanish to Chukchi, Irish to Tatar... and the more people I meet, the more I realize we all have in common.
I changed jobs and got a (very small) raise, but get to work for the same interesting people.
The missus and I are getting along well (hi Irina!
)
I'm going to see my parents for the first time in 2 years tomorrow, and I got to see my brother for the first time in almost 2 years in, of all places on earth, Newcastle last month.
I've got most of what I want, and probably nearly everything I need. I had a hard time even advising my family what to get me for Christmas! Not meant to be a boast - there always something more you want, but nothing seems so important.
All in all, I can't complain. We're all such lucky people, really.
Merry Christmas!
