Last Christmas....

Looking back, what a wild year it's been!

I've traveled to 7 countries (will be 8 by year-end), and visted or flown across every time zone this year 8)

I've seen/met/talked to people of tens of different nationalities over the course of the year, from Tlingut to English, Spanish to Chukchi, Irish to Tatar... and the more people I meet, the more I realize we all have in common.

I changed jobs and got a (very small) raise, but get to work for the same interesting people.

The missus and I are getting along well (hi Irina! ;))

I'm going to see my parents for the first time in 2 years tomorrow, and I got to see my brother for the first time in almost 2 years in, of all places on earth, Newcastle last month.

I've got most of what I want, and probably nearly everything I need. I had a hard time even advising my family what to get me for Christmas! Not meant to be a boast - there always something more you want, but nothing seems so important.

All in all, I can't complain. We're all such lucky people, really.
Merry Christmas! :D

This year has been sad and happy at the same time.

Happy, cause me and missus migrated to our new house.

Sad, cause I lost a friend due to a motorbike accident, while I was in Ibiza last summer...

Hope for an only-happy 2007....

Meeting Robder

2006 - Hmmm I like consolidating at the end of a year so nice one to whoever posted this thread...

Highs:

1. Moving into a home so perfect I couldn't even have dreamt it up - Where would I be without the bunker now? 8O (esp the bathroom overflow pipe 8O)
2. Keeping my relationship with the pilchard on the go (well done Robder)
3. Discovering Berlin and Berghain - OMG.
4. Imaginative promotors finally doing something interesting! (performers in mainstream clubs - NUDE - and the return of the MC in Shoreditch for example)
5. Trade, trade, trade, trade oh and trade. 8O 8) Still stands out above the rest after all these years.
6. Rekindling my love with Ibiza (again) after a two year bout of cycisim.
7. Trailer trash summer boat party! 8O    (see below)

8. Managing to sit still and not think about travelling - it's nice to settle albeit temporarily.
9. Oh God - how could I forget??? Getting the best job ever with some great colleagues, an amazing boss and thoroughly brilliant (and hardworking 8O) times.
10. Rediscovering yoga.
11. The bunker (again) because I'm so happy with it.

Probably loads more but can't think right now...

Lows

1. Sister divorcing husband - urgh.
2. Discovering I'm not invincible and may be partying a little too hard on consecutive weekends. Debauchery is fine - just not as much of it.
3. This is far too negative...things could be sooo much worse.

Right, that's our excuse to meet up in the New Year for drinks and I can tell you all about it. I just have to say, you would have loved it 8O

Long live Mouse 8O 8O 8O 8O

Oh yes Robder, i am surprised no one has told you this yet. You would have probably asked for an encore! 8O
