Me neither.

Lots of spanish lads walking around smokin spliffs in Pacha last year.. asking everyone if they wanted a hit.

I don't get it. When I'm at a party I want to be "up there" if you know what i mean... when I get back on the hotel balcony in the morning though.. 8)

No, a little bit of spliff when you're off your head in a club is great. It gets you even more off your head ;)

Sitting down on the ground in a club is actually a "tradition" from South America, from Uruguay I think. It's about showing respect to a tune or dj.

I witnessed this at Space opening, it was when the dj played Faithless. I think it's a cool thing to see 8)

That was the tune I heard it done to too, Insomnia 8) Were you with Mark on the podium at the time??

Yeah I was next to the podium with mr. Sun. I have some crap-quality photos (taken with my mobile phone) of people sitting down in Space, I'll post them as soon as photobucket is up again. :D

That's funny! Maybe you're on the photo then, must have a look!

I don't agree with the people who say it's dumb or lame or whatever to do the kneeling trick, I think it's actually quite cool and creates a certain feeling of unity when everyone does that.

I tend to agree with you Peppermint, at the end of the day its just fun and something different. If you cant have a laugh when youre on holiday then when can you do it?? 8)

Letsbounce, I did see Mark inside afterwards, mustve been around 5am or so. I was wearing a green cowboy hat all day (not sure why), couldnt have missed me. Maybe we were introduced afterall!

Yea I did meet you!!!! I was the spanish looking guy with spikey hair and the tattoo's :D

Peppermint I gotta see that photo, it would be really cool if I came out in it!

Just dont get too wrecked and then smoke loads of weed in a club. Me and Jon made the mistake of doing this once at Gatecrasher NEC, Jon thought he was floating above the rest of the dancefloor, we all thought we were in some kind of computer game, getting points everytime we walked past someone  We were so battered we ended up in Birmingham airport trying to get a train home

A lethal combination 8O

By mid-summer they should be timing records at Mambo to make sure you get a breakdown at sunset, so people can kneel and clap at the same time!

I thought it was great fun to kneel during the breakdown of insomnia - very cool and amny of the people who had been pouting about posing actually cracked a smile and looked like they were having fun for a change!

Letsbounce, don't think I met you until we were inside?? Ferd - agreed I was rubbish introducing people, just kind of assumed all the spotlighters knew each other!

I'm sorry but the thought of some daft cock kneeling down in front of me in a club fills me with fear (for his/her safety).... for a start I'm either

a) gonna fall over him
b) accidentally injure him/her whilst I'm throwing some shapes
c) deliberately slap the daft sod - just for getting in my way....

...... for the love of dog, its a club not a place to pay penance...

Sorry, maybe kneeling isnt the right word, crouching is more appropriate.

I think its a case of you had to be there. Everyone was doing it, so it wasnt only one or two.
You wouldnt have fallen over anyone either as there was enough room, plus it was a breakdown so people are more or less still at that time anyway.

It wasn't random people falling to their knees in the breakdown!

It was a bit like a reverse mexican wave that started at the dj booth and spread out slowly - looked reall cool and completely changed the aspect of the dancefloor.. a bit of sudden calm where only chaos had reigned previously... Then when the tune kicked in, pandamonium returned and heads exploded all over the place. Fabulous!

or maybe you had to be there.

sounds really amazing to me :D my argentinian friend says it's a habit over there, they only do it if the dj is really good so it's kind of a compliment.
