Forgot to mention this earlier, did anyone from here who went to the Space Opening see this happen in the terrace?? I was in the middle of it when it happened (I think Mark Sun was near me too), was a bit freaked out at first. Some people refused to join in and got booed, I thought it was fun, got a slight headrush when we jumped up. Or maybe it was the poppers id just done

Is this a spanish thing??

Thats what I thought!

It was wierd because we were supposed to be surrounded by the trendiest and coolest people on earth, and yet you had them telling everyone to get down and then jump and scream when the base came in.

You mean Vicks is "out"? I still see it every now and then here in the states...

Most definitely. You'd get laughed at in British clubs although I can't speak for hard house/hardcore nights, which are the land that time forgot in any case. A while back I went to a revival of a night I used to go to in the early 90s, the era when Vicks inhalers could be used without blushes (although those who affected to be more sophisticated used olbas oil). We were all egging each other on to bring some Vicks but I think everyone realised you can take irony too far.

Sitting down on the ground in a club is actually a "tradition" from South America, from Uruguay I think. It's about showing respect to a tune or dj.

I witnessed this at Space opening, it was when the dj played Faithless. I think it's a cool thing to see 8)

we used to do "double rushguns" (rush = slang for poppers) . Take two bottles - one for each nostril , long inhalation period, then rave right next to the biggest speaker cab you could find.

Loud bass + copious amounts of amyl nitrate = BIG Rush!

Oh and a mate used to drink the shlte.

Have you noticed how "pop"-ular you become when you pull out a bottle in a club! People swarm over to yer and get yer drinks and that for a go!

Once exchanged a bottle for a LARGE bag of something more expensive (and higher class) than poppers!
The lad who swapped with me didnt realise it was on sale behind the bar
