I posted the Reuters article because I thought it was funny that some muppet was preparing to sue Frey and his publishers. Seeing as we were just discussing the book, I thought you enlightened minds might find that interesting. I have been proven wrong.

Well, Mr Frey seems to be doing quite well for himselfBuckley said:Maybe that's what really happened![]()

i decided to read Frey's book after all your comments on here - nearly at the end now and i have really enjoyed it. I don't care if most of it is fabricated.
I read recently that Frey had to go back on Oprah Winfrey's show (not sure if this has been mentioned above), the show which originally propelled his book into the limelight, to face her accusations of betraying his readers...

never let the truth get in the way of a good story i say![]()
Another good read on the same lines as Frey's book is Addict by Stephen Smith - published in 1997 and is basically the same type of story but a British man. There's a bit too much of the "religion saves us" message in that one though.
i'm going to get My Friend Leonard next - is it any good?
Red said:i've just seen on imdb.com that Addict is being made into a film directed by Gollum from LOTR no less (isn't that your friend???!!!)

Augusten Burroughs sounds good - might read the first book Running with Scissors first though - what do you think?
Why is it we like reading about frazzled drug ravaged drunks?![]()
