...oh and there's a small kitchenette on the side so I can cook baked beans for mum.

that really frightened me did that - it looks like its been "properly" used for torture and such things......... its not like you would keep the household cleaning implements down there alongside old periodicals and a hoover 8O 8O

ah. Distinctly average treats. Chocolate ones are far nicer. The M&S ones are quite possibly the best ones in the world ever ever

I didn't know M&S did arctic rolls - I'm going to get some at the weekend 8)

She's probably on the phone right now to one of those "Where there blame, there's claim" hotlines ......

I understand the grieving process and as Sil said, that each person has their own way of dealing with grief etc etc, but I think It might have been a better idea in hindsight for her to have had the photo laminated and she could keep it in her purse or something rather than for all and sundry to have to look at...... thus avoiding the stroppy stomping around downstairs in Reception.....

The grieving process should be something really personal and intimate.
YOu should deal with your pain all alone, and not do it public. What is she looking for? It looks to me that she wants everybody aware taht she has lost her mother and she is very sad and in a difficult moment, it looks like looking for other's pitty. I hate this kind of attitude :?

you could right, she did something similar when her 2 brothers died (separate incidents) over the past few years - she stuck photos up on her desk (luckily these photos were actually of when they were alive) :)

She's been really unlucky with the amount of deaths in her immediate family - since I have worked with her she's lost 2 brothers, a sister and her mother (oh and her dog)

.... maybe I am a jinx...:?

I keep saying that in front of a situation like this, you deal with grief in the way you can, but I think it should be something private and intimate.
I know lots of people who make it public and so it looks to me like they should be treaten in a different way because of their disgrace. I know I sound very cruel, but I've lived disgraces like this in the past (two very important deaths in a year) and actually who hasn't a disgrace or tragedy of any kind in their lives?

  at this!!

Whatever next - she'll have her embalmed mother sitting on the switchboard next to her! 8O

I already had that vision "Mother!!!!!!" a la Norman Bates

(I refrained from actually voicing that tho.....   )

well i feel sorry for her, but yes its a private thing but someone deals with grief in the oddest ways. its a picture, nothing to make a fuss about. but not really good to have around when youre trying to be effective at work. poor her, losing all those family members. its sad, honestly.....

Andrew McCarthy.

Pretty in Pink = the greatest film EVER :D
That's the guy!

What a great era of filmmaking... PiP, Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful (I was always partial to that one... another great soundtrack too), 16 Candles... they just don't make them like that anymore!
