Nice hip restaurants nearby, Nassau beach and Delano beach,
La Plage and Ushuaia are all very trendy chic and cool .

Inbetween them are some very ugly cheap places
with noisy drunk people without good taste.

Borabora is very trashy, cheap, loud and uncool.

Crocs may have faded (thankfully),
but plastic shoes are still big.

PARIS — This summer a number of top designers have made it possible for customers
to revisit a summer staple that many thought would forever
remain a childhood memory:
the plastic sandal.

The Plastic Sandal Reborn Brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, See by Chloé
and Tory Burch have all added plastic footwear to their collections.
...
Plastic shoes are also surprisingly eco-friendly.
Their environmental impact is generally less than that of their leather and rubber counterparts because they are made of mostly recyclable materials,
and can be recycled in turn to create new designs ...

Some companies are taking the plastic-shoes concept into the cold winter months ... ..."

Dead and Buried
The Town Hall put the final nail in the Matutes golf project on Friday by making the land in Playa den Bossa "public use". The deal, announced by the mayor and the Councillor for Planning, Josep Antoni Prats, as they unveiled the new municipality Land Use Plan for this area, will mean the Matutes family will be able to build on 80,000m2 of land close to San Jordi, but in return they will have to give up 500,000m2 of land in Playa den Bossa where the proposed golf course was to be built.
This "swap" will ensure the Town Hall can turn a huge area of Playa den Bossa into public space. A similar deal will be done with other landowners in the area, ensuring the Town Hall ends up with 572,000m2 of land.
Agustinet said this would be a first in Ibiza, whilst confirming that 300,000m2 of the area was in the ses Salinas Natural Park and so would remain unbuildable, despite now being public land.

Golf Course
The golf course projected for Playa d´en Bossa by the Matutes family has finally been given the "no go". A report by the environmental ministry stressed the adverse effects such an installation would have in the area of the airport and the salt pans of Ses Salinas.
It has now been decided to use the property as a natural park of more than 500,000 square metres, which will be the largest public area on the island.

Demolition

The owners of the Ibiza Playa Hotel in ses Figuretes have commenced demolition work on their swimming pool. The hotel was constructed in the early 70s, and a concrete platform built on reclaimed territory from the rocks to accommodate the pool and sun-bathing areas. Licences were granted at that time but expired more than seven years ago. Costas, the coastal authority, insisted that this work be carried out to make way for the new promenade which will run from the Los Molinos Hotel to the Algarb Hotel.

The first demolition order was put in place in 2004, but the proprietors appealed and attempted to renew the concession which they had held for 40 years, but to no avail. A representative of the hotel group lamented that the decisions which affect the coastline in Ibiza are made in Madrid by people who have no idea of the island. He continued that he was concerned the decision would set a precedent for other such swimming pools and gardens to be declared illegal and demolished. A platform in front of the Los Molinos Hotel which was used as a solarium, has also been eliminated, and using the same guideline, the same fate would befall the Ereso, Torres del Mar, Goleta and Tres Carabelas Hotels, together with the Jabeque Apartments and other bars and restaurants, as they have all occupied land which has been reclaimed from the shoreline.

After the end of the summer season the pools at Los Molinos and Náutico Ebeso Hotels will have to be removed. The head of Costas, Celestí Alomar, was on the island last week and thanked the proprietors of the Ibiza Playa Hotel for their collaboration and promised that the new promenade will be beneficial to everyone concerned. He also mentioned the work which is being carried out at the moment in Port d'es Torrent to remove the old concrete platform, which has been the victim of the wind and the waves over the years and had deteriorated, and replace it with a wooden structure, which will include steps to provide easier access for the large catamarans which dock there.
