Secret Life vs Stella Polaris

This is the first of two parties hosted by the Secret Life Label team. We kick things off with a very special line-up. For this party we join forces with Denmark’s Stella Polaris (the worlds largest Electronica / Chill Out Festival) to deliver an eclectic line-up that is as unique as the venue itself.

Jose Padilla will headline, having recently returned to the legendary Café Del Mar and signed to the International Feel label. He joins us to launch his only compilation of 2014 – Sunset Hours: Marini’s on 57, a beautiful collection of music compiled for the breathtaking venue in Malaysia.

Also on the line-up: Budu (the Danish DJ/Producer part of the Lulu Rouge collective); Secret Life regular Robot 84; Napoleon (aka Bent); Secret Life DJs (Pete Gooding & Phil Dockerty) and Marini’s on 57 resident Jeff Jefferson.

Starting life as a blog in 2012, Secret Life continues to build a reputation for releasing quality dance music. This year they will host a stage at Stella Polaris in Denmark and accompany Jose Padilla on exclusive UK appearances.

Sunset Hours: Marini’s on 57 is released in July 2014.

Selador Recordings at Ibiza Rocks House!​

Selador Recordings, the record label set up in 2013 by Dave Seaman & Steve Parry is proud to announce its very first party on the island of Ibiza, the world's premiere clubbing destination. The soirée will take place at the legendary Pikes Hotel, now home to Ibiza Rocks House.

After making a huge impact in its first 12 months with releases featuring the likes of Robert Babicz, Just Be, Him_Self_Her, Samu.l, Affkt, Wehbba, Gabriel Ananda, Nicolas Masseyeff, Rob Hes, Shall Ocin & many more, the UK based label will bring its special brand of electronic house music to the island for two exclusive gigs on June 27th and then again on October 3rd during the closing party week.

"Pikes Hotel has been the scene of many an amazing party over the years stretching back to the legendary gatherings of the likes of Freddie Mercury and Grace Jones in the 80s so we're very proud and privileged to become part of it's esteemed history", said Seaman, "It's an Ibizan institution. Plain and simple. We're all very excited".

Joining Dave on June 27th will be another Ibizan institution, Cafe Mambo resident Pete Gooding, along with the label's hot new Serbian production team, Kucna Muzika. Whilst on October 3rd, both Dave and Steve will be flanked another of the labels' rising stars, Seff whose recent production work has attracted a growing legion of fans including Hot Since 82 & Mark Knight.

Idris Elba's run of exclusive parties is already in full flow and this man is only just getting started!

We've seen Idris take to the decks to deliver his unique blend of cool electronic music, with special guests and DJ mates like Pete Tong and Harry & Domenic from Sub Club turning up and taking turns to keep the intimate House party vibes going on til dawn at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes.

This week the main man will welcome Junior Sanchez for a special set, with more friends including DJ Sneak & Felix Da House Cat joining Idris week on week.
 
Madness’s Chas Smash hosts World Hepatitis Day 2014 at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel ​

To celebrate this year’s World Hepatitis Day on July 28 2014, Chas Smash (Carl from Madness) will be hosting a special 3 course liver-friendly dinner at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel. On the night there will be a chance to win a singed and framed photograph of Madness by Ibiza Rocks photographer, Jerome Ferriere as well as a secret prize that Carl is bringing along.

Ibiza Rocks bosses Dawn and Andy have been right at the centre of hepatitis C awareness raising for the last 8 years now and this year Ibiza Rocks House will be raising money for The Hepatitis C Trust from their guest lists at Pikes Hotel on the Wednesdays and Fridays leading up to World Hepatitis Day.

Campaign Manager for The Hepatitis C Trust and event organiser Gemma Peppe said: “The dinner is part of an annual campaign to promote hepatitis C awareness amongst holiday makers in Ibiza.This year we are looking to raise much needed funds to enable The Trust to continue it’s vital work across the UK as we strive to make our goal of seeing hepatitis C eradicated by 2030.”

About hepatitis C

There is no vaccine but treatment can now successfully clear the virus in most patients. Hepatitis C is a blood-borne virus that currently affects 216,000 people in the UK1 (figures from Health Protection Agency). It can cause cirrhosis and liver cancer yet more than half of those living with the condition are undiagnosed.



Risk factors:

  • Receiving a blood transfusion / blood products / organ transplantation prior to 1991
  • Current/past intravenous drug use (including steroids, even once and sharing any injecting equipment)
  • Sharing drug snorting equipment (notes/straws; this may also apply to crack cocaine pipes)
  • Blood transfusions or invasive medical or dental procedures in a developing country
  • Tattoos / piercings/ acupuncture (in unregistered premises or with possibly unsterile equipment or with needles that were not new)
  • Sharing razors or toothbrushes (with a person who is known to have hepatitis C or may have been at risk)
  • Men who have sex with men are at a higher risk of contracting hepatitis C
