His IMS visit ended up with some kind of collaboration with Nile Rodgers -- according to their tweets.

OF SEX, DRUGS AND ROCK & ROLL – 4[SUP]th[/SUP] JULY 2013​

To celebrate 33 incredible, raucous, rock ‘n' roll fuelled years, Ibiza Rocks together with Pikes founder and party legend Tony Pike will throw an extravagant anniversary party to remember at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes on Tuesday 4[SUP]th[/SUP] July 2013.

For 33 years and counting, Pikes has been THE place to party, play and stay. Famous for being the film set for Wham's ‘Club Tropicana' video and the exclusive party-retreat for the rock ‘n' roll elite of the 1980's, Pikes has hosted Freddie Mercury, Grace Jones and Elton John, to name but a few. In 2011, Ibiza Rocks brought this boutique sanctuary to a new generation of guests and rock stars alike by marrying the incredible legacy of Pikes with the ‘now' of Ibiza Rocks.

To celebrate the past, present and future of this Ibizian institution, a night of fun and frolics has been set to the theme of Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n' Roll in preparation for another legendary Pikes party. From midday guests can grab a signature cocktail and chill by the famous pool to the sound of the 80´s, whilst chatting to Pikes founder Tony Pike.

From 8pm Ibiza Pin-ups hair, make-up and styling parlor will be set up in Chez Fez to transform guests into vintage guys and dolls using Pin Up, Erotic and bondage styles.

Maria Lars, renowned erotic artist and girlfriend of Tony Pike, will unveil an erotic art exhibition at 9pm and talk about her art and her exotic lifestyle before Tony Pike pitches up poolside to introduce an unmissable video in which he will tell all the tales of the past 33 years at Pikes including the secrets, the lies, the stars, the scandal and the hedonistic lifestyle that still keeps him there today.

At 11pm, guests can move from the poolside to the Pin Up Party in the hotel's infamous party pad Freddie´s with pin-up DJ´s on the decks and vintage pornography on the screens.

the first of the series of parties the actor idris elba (the wire, luther, etc) will be hosting at pikes was a big success with the place totally packed. so good to see everything open and people everywhere, with music inside and outside. one of the best parties i've been to there because of the people, the atmosphere and the randomness of it all!

if i had to rate it from 0 to 10, i would say 11...

Rock n Ride: Park at Pikes...get dropped off at the gig and return without hassle of taxis/ parking...and if there are no taxis around when you leave us in the early hours we´ll shuttle you into San Antonio where you can take a short walk to the taxi rank to get home quickly and safely.

(FIX IBIZA/ 29JULY 2013):Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel is undeniably the rock n roll hotel of choice on this, the Mediterranean island of music, a place where every musician worth his salt has laid his weary head and/or partied on with the best of them, ever since the beginning of its 33 year history. But Rock n Roll aside, our ears definitely *****ed up and our jazzy hands began to tingle when we heard about the latest happening to take place up at Ibiza Rocks House this Tuesday 30July.

See, sometimes, Ibiza Rocks rolls down a different road, dances to a different tune – and this Tuesday is a perfect example of what we mean, with the unveiling and vernissage of celebrated Dutch artist, Bo Woody Winter's ‘JAZZ LEGENDS' exhibition, a collection of 18 pieces depicting the History of Jazz and which will remain on show in Freddie's Suite at the hotel until 8 August.

The exhibition, being shown for the first time in Spain, is a culmination of several years of endless painting, bound together by the blood, sweat and tears of Woody Winter and apart from the 16 individual portraits includes his latest masterpiece, a 30ft long homage to jazz and Winter's own jazz heroes.

Amongst the names- Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Nina Simone, Wes Montgomery, Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard, Dizzy Gillespie, Chet Baker, Eric Dolphy, Esperanza Spalding, James Spaulding – all legends in their field. Jazz represented by its finest figureheads and just some of the musicians portrayed in ‘Jazz Legends'.

This latest exhibition by Bo Woody Winter comes fresh on the heels of the artist's recent show at the North Sea Jazz Festival, considered the biggest international jazz fest in the world. It was there in 2011 that Bo Woody Winter met his heroes -Marcus Miller and Toots Thielemans- both now have Bo's portraits of them on their walls. North Sea Jazz Festival's Art Show Director, Wim van Zon also plays an important role in Winter's Ibiza exhibitions and will also present a visual introduction to Bo's work this Tuesday. After its inauguration, the 'Jazz Legends' series will remain in Freddie's Suite until 8 August.

Aside from the jazz junkie's obvious first love, Winter also has a deeply rooted history in Holland's dance music scene, and has recently completed a second collection of paintings under the moniker DJ LEGENDS, already confirmed to be revealed to the discerning public on October 11 at Agroturismo Atzaro, Sant Joan. As an introduction to this second event, this Tuesday's vernissage will also include the presentation from the artist to international DJ Sarah Main. But more on that later…

Back to Bo on the Rocks and the plan for this Tuesday. Apart from an introduction to the artist and the proud presentation of his mammoth 10 metre long painting, Ibiza Rocks House will be pulling out the stops and putting on the Ritz with cocktails from 8pm, served to the tune of the finest jazz from the Muriel Grossman Quartet. And whilst all that is going on, Bo will also do a live paint in the hotel's Plaza Mayor of one of jazz's undeniably most talented females- Nina Simone.

For those who want even more toe-tapping, DJ Stray Kitten will be taking up the gauntlet/headphones in Freddie's Suite playing a selection of swing, jazz, blues and soul.

Lastly, in a very bittersweet addition to the event, Bo Woody Winter will dedicate the 'Jazz Legends' exhibition to his father, who very sadly lost his battle with cancer only last week. Bo will therefore be auctioning his famous ‘splatter suit' at Ibiza Rocks House and donating the proceeds to cancer research. Great suit, great gesture. RIP Mr Winter Sr.

All in all, a very cool little happening for those in the know, for those who love jazz and those that love art and of course, not forgetting, the usual suspects- the Pikes party people- you know who you are…Jazzy Hands at the ready, Ibiza Rocks House turns speakeasy.

After telling you this summer would be special, we couldn't really go back on it now could we?

We also thought we'd be able to keep a few surprises for this party but it's too much to hold on to ourselves. So yes, what you may have heard is true (well not of all of it), but Felix Da Housecat is playing for you at our intimate Ibizan home, Pikes Hotel.

Also making his MUSTACHIO! debut is the fast Ibiza riser Eagle's & Butterflies. And not to forget the return of Acid Mondays, who last year had Freddie's bedroom erupting in euphoric rhapsody. We saw some hugs and maybe a few tears shed, if that was you we want you back for seconds.

This one is probably going to get busy so its probably appropriate we advise you arrive early to guarantee entry!
