Ibiza or Las Vegas.. where is the REAL party at?

  • Pick your kicks. You don’t know how many times I had guy friends who couldn’t get in for rockin’ a pair of Jordans. These kicks may get mad respect on the streets – no doubt. But unless you’re a celebrity or headlining, designer sneakers aren’t taking you inside. Dress shoes are the best way to go, or even nice black (or grey) tennis shoes with matching laces and without an obvious logo.
  • Pick your heels wisely. Ladies – while you won’t have a problem getting in, you might have an issue getting around. Six-inch stilettos may be cute for a minute, but what’s not cute is walking around barefoot after a long night. Do not – I repeat do not – do the walk of shame. But if you must wear the heels, go half a size bigger and get those gel inserts. Your feet will thank you later. Whatever you do, just don’t end up on camera, like these party gals in “Vegas Girl Walk.”
  • Dress comfortably. Gents – the outfit might look cool on the mannequin (or that cute salesgirl convinced you to buy it!), but if you aren’t comfy, you’ll definitely be hanging out with the bartender all night. When you’re trying stuff on, it might not hurt to practice your dance moves – for comfort reasons! And gals – while a tight mini-dress looks gorgeous in selfies, you might want to reconsider to avoid any embarrassing pics later in the night. Alcohol works wonders; with all your dancing and moving around, you might be showing the world a lot more skin that you anticipated!
  • But don’t be TOO comfortable. Save hoodies, jerseys and T-shirts for the morning after. Also, leave the ‘90s gangster-baggy jeans where they belong. Loose fit or straight leg is your best bet. Skinny if you’re daring. Wear a fun collared shirt with a vest and tie or bowtie. Even a fitted blazer with a good pair of jeans looks great. Hats like berets are permitted. If you have a snapback or baseball cap, you won’t be wearing either inside.

There are no issues getting into any Vegas clubs if you are willing to wait in the GA line and pay a cover charge and aren't too smashed or dressed like you came from the gym.

Even better buy presales and get in quick.

It's an
Came up on this article the other day...
http://www.irishtimes.com/blogs/ont...-not-ibiza-is-where-superstar-djs-want-to-be/

Tell me what your opinion is on this: Have you been to both places before? Do you believe that Ibiza is losing business to Vegas? Which will be on top 5 years from now?

My opinion: I'll update this once I get back from Ibiza for my first time! (July 3rd-7th). Can't wait!!!
it's an ibiza forum. What do you think people will say? I haven't been to ibiza yet, but vegas 3 times. Vegas is really fun, but super expensive...and God forbid you have to split aces 3 times at the blackjack table for 200$ a hand and lose(my face color matched the green felt of the table). My guess would be ibiza

Is a seismic change about to shake up the Strip when it comes to high-paid DJs in our jam-packed nightclubs?
The news that Tryst Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas closed Saturday night after a successful decade-long run and will be transformed into Intrigue next April came as a surprise, but the bigger shock was that the new club won’t be shelling out mega-bucks for big-name DJs.
No more $400,000-a-night superstars to spin the wheels of steel.

Perhaps the biggest shock?
In an interview, Wynn nightclub czar Sean Christie revealed a club within a club and vowed:
If we find out that you’re tweeting or Instagramming or Snapchatting or Periscoping,
we’re going to tell you to stop.
And if you don’t stop, we’re going to ask you to leave,
and we’re going to ask you to not come back
because the great part of the financial freedom of a private club is it’s not there to make money.”

Tryst rarely ever booked famous djs.... they usually booked open format and hip hop djs. And i'll believe that social media ban when i see it... i give it 2 months lol.

No doubt there is some demand for a venue like this... not everyone wants to go to XS/Hak/Omnia for a big room experience.

Just went to Vegas for Halloween.

On the bright side, the Halloween party was completely awesome and highly worth returning for (sorry rest of the world, you suck at Halloween and I have seen it tried in a number of different countries now).

I was going to write a quick review of the clubs the wife and I went to but then I saw this thread and realized it's just not worth writing more than a few minutes to warn everyone about how bad it was.

We saw Tiesto @ Hakkasan and Dash Berlin @ Marquee.

Tiesto, as most of you could guess was wildly overpriced crap. The crowd (at least from our experience) was not bad. We stayed off the main floor till it thinned out though. Security was not as bad as expected and the drinks, while Ibiza expensive, were good.

No one was into the music (mostly due to how horrible Tiesto is) and most of the crowd got white girl wasted around 1230 and left. Whatever. After that, we went on several recommendations to an 'afterparty' at Drai's After Hours bar/club in the Cromwell. While not bad by American standards, this was also a let down which died a merciful death around 3 or 4 am... Honestly, I was so drunk at that point, I can not remember much but the Ms and I decided it was nice to walk back to where we were staying... she was wearing an evening gown that closely resembles a dicso ball and walked back barefoot...

Yes, I married the greatest woman on earth.

The next night was Dash Berlin (whom the Ms and I both like a lot). I must say that musically, the night was right on and given that we talked our way in for free, the average price for music over the two nights was not that bad. The crowd was... well a bit better. Alright for an American crowd at a 'disco' I guess. This was closer to Halloween too so the costumes on show were fun.

SO... overall review... you can find good music in Vegas but if you are looking for something like Ibiza, it really is not even close to the same. If you have no clue what a disco is and like top 40 BS, enjoy paying too much to get drunk.

^^ pretty accurate take on Vegas clubs and Halloween there :)

too bad you didn't go to Drai's after Dash on Sat night - the Martinez Brothers played and it stays very busy until 7-8am easy on Sat nights/Sunday morning. Also Carl Cox and Saeed Younan played at Light starting around 2am that Sat night...
