Ibiza Gossip 2026

I was

I was not expecting this!!!
Did Pacha not go well? I enjoyed it this year.

My first reflection on this was WTF! However, looking back on the nights/DJs have enjoyed at Chinos the last few seasons, I think this will might work well actually. The size of the dancefloor is perfect for the party, it works well for Chinois getting a solid mid week promoter there, and a nice long season too so should be pumping in May too.

Just need to get the Brits to Chinois, but the Defected PR team will see to that I am sure.

Next question I suppose is what do Pacha replace it with? Move another night to Thursday, or does the likes of Mau P get a longer season? He did pretty well last year by all accounts. Or a completely new night?

Let the gossip begin...

Nothing promoters like more than a "Road Block" story...
We really enjoyed our first trip to Chinois for Saga this year.

We went for what ended being the last Trip after reopening post September flooding.

It was rammed and didn't flow as well as Pacha can when "full on" busy because it is pretty much linear.

If not too stupidly busy though think it will be a good night.

Bloody hell, pre-Christmas interesting announcement?! I feel like a confused hedgehog peeping it's eyes out due to a mild January, do I need to dust of my dancing shoes yet, or not?

I've never been to Chinois and had it in mind when Gorgon City were there in September, but ended up going with the muscle memory of Defected, so nice to have a reason to go/less chance of a clash with nights i'm in to.

Are the UK focused crowd really going to turn out at Chinois though? Feels an odd fit to me. I'd have thought back to Eden would have been the better move.
In my mind Defected have been budget cutting and relying on their brand/reputation to hold firm, however I think if they go too far then they may start to haemorrhage fans/customers at a much faster rate than it will be possible to gain them back if the rot sets in. I hope not.

I suppose they turned up at Pacha, so doesn't need as many for Chinois

The risk is after a quiet early season night or two word can start to spread that a party is 'dead' and its thats a hard tag to shake that off.

Theres no real reason that Brits dont head to Ibiza Town in big numbers its just as far as Hi/Ushuaia in a taxi from San An, its more of a culture thing that its seen as a bit posh/old/Spanish. I cant give a more accurate reason we're a funny nation sometimes :)

I'm not saying I think Chinois and Defected fit like a glove, but the UK crowd are capable of turning up to Chinois. Look at Appetite - that was almost exclusively Brits and packed, albeit, yes, only monthly and not weekly

...also does this means that Kerry Chandler is not coming back or changing to a different night?

Wondering that Defected is such a british thing. This music is popular everywhwere. House music with a little commercial touch.
And its true : Pacha has a unique crowd in Ibiza. A lot of locals , a lot of mainlanders. Same as Akasha. Less rude people there. Nice evenings.
Saw it in a different style in Ibiza , when I remember DC10 sometimes for example.

My reading of it is yes, but please someone correct me. In compaison when I went to CamelPhat last season @ Pacha, my biggest surprise was just how un-British that night was. That felt a lot more international.
