Ibiza Gossip 2026

My reading of it is yes, but please someone correct me. In compaison when I went to CamelPhat last season @ Pacha, my biggest surprise was just how un-British that night was. That felt a lot more international.
Thats true. This year : Defected more brits than other nights. Camelphat more international. Solomun : More international than both. Flower power : Most spanish night. Defected : Youngest crowd. Didnt expect it. Similar impressions ?
I was there two times ( early in the year and close to main season ).

Maybe Mau P, ANOTR or Franky Rizardo…
Franky Rizardo his Flow nights must be due a residency, i heard him b2b with Vintage Culture for 3 hours at Music on Closing last October and it was impressive. ANOTR have there own NOART nights and id be suprised to see them lock in on a weekly...

Wondering that Defected is such a british thing. This music is popular everywhwere. House music with a little commercial touch.
And its true : Pacha has a unique crowd in Ibiza. A lot of locals , a lot of mainlanders. Same as Akasha. Less rude people there. Nice evenings.
Saw it in a different style in Ibiza , when I remember DC10 sometimes for example.
It's global now but Defected is a British brand hence the reason why it attracts mainly Brits a bit like Carola for the Italians, Cattaneo for the Argentinian just to make a few examples.
As for Pacha, I think the crowd has become more "mainstream" recently and that is probably a consequence of their recent bookings.
Chinois hasn't reached that level yet and I found that last summer the crowd there was much better than on the other side of the road.
Akasha is a totally different thing altogether, especially in winter, it is still one of the few places that hasn't been "ruined' by the social media trends, that could be also due to the different demographic that goes there and I hope it carries on that way.

I was at the Camelphat closing in Pacha, i thought it was a very British crowd (im Irish, so i count as International ;)) , but all ages, kids in monterix tshirts and shorts to couples in their 40s & 50's having a great time.

Same here, I went once last year and found it exactly how you described it apart from the "having a good time" part 😅
I thought the atmosphere was a bit flat with lots of pushing around or people standing still, then again it was August so, somehow expected.

Defected is an international brand, in the sense that it can go to Dubai or Perth, Bali or San Francisco, and be the number one or number two party on RA in that city on that given date. That much is true. Buuuuutt on Ibiza, it doesn't work like that. It has competition from three or four other international brands or - rather more in the modern age - those "brands" being a specific high-profile DJ. And not just on the same night but on a night either side and every other day that week.

It gets even more nuanced, since a lot of more casual clubbers will go for the club and not the party as such. Amnesia, Pacha, Hï, Ushuaïa and even now UNVRS get the pull from the name alone and, as much as I really like the club, Chinois just doesn't have that yet - and given its size and the type of market it leans into, it may never be spoken about in those same terms.

So I agree that Defected is an all-rounder where you know exactly what you're gonna get and that is attractive for a lot of people - and those reasons aren't necessarily a bad thing either. But it is chasing the crowd rather than pulling them when it comes to Ibiza.

And I do really love what Defected stands for and the guys that work there

Ok , I was there at the end of the peak season . Lot of people at the dancefloor. But at this time , nearly every party is full at Pacha. VIP , too ? I dont know. A lot of expensive champagne bottles sold ? The one evening impression of a crowded dancefloor means nothing. Sometimes I forget .

had all weeks gone like this I would say it would be very likely defected continued at pacha in 2026. and that's where you are right, often holidaymakers only get one (or max two) impressions of a night during at 20 week season and then sometimes it feels weird to see a party changing venues if the impression you had was a full (and vip) in full swing.

personally I'm also very undecided on how I feel about defected's move. I always thought they fit eden like a glove and expected a return to san an rather than staying in ibiza town. but then, chinois doesn't rely so much on vip compared to pacha (which for defected is a good thing). an interesting first bit of 2026 news for sure and one pretty much no one expected, me very much included!

Hmmm I think Hi is still a good place for Glitterbox. Some nights the line-up was a bit weak this year plus Carl at UNVRS…

Agree. Glitterbox fits the Hï Theatre like a glove IMO.
Agree and again think the demograph of the crowd is a factor on this one as well.

I'd say Glitterbox's crowd is older, more LGBTQ friendly and more females than a lot of Ibiza nights and that crowd feel more at home in Ibiza Town/Bossa than Amnesia. Plus its a glossy production which suits Hi not Amnesia's more industrial look.

hmmmmm

la troya at amnesia was good back in the day when referring to LGBTQ crowd

Kind of agreeing with all of the points above

Of course it is very LGBTQ friendly, but I think it is also one of the most 'female friendly' nights too - hence why I think it fits Hi so well as glam, glossy and safe. And personally it was the only night (for me) that matched Hi so well. I actually ENJOYED Hi when I went to Glitterbox, and how many of the 'old guard' (if I am that now) can say that about many nights there?

I really think it is a big loss for Hi if it is true.

I also agree with @stivi that Amnesia Terrace also has a special place in the LGBTQ hearts for many reasons, so also excited to see how it pans out...

And another little rumour I hear is that it might be on Fridays! Now THAT really gets the juices flowing, Glitterbox is TOTALLY a match for Fridays IMO.

As we say though.... Nothing is confirmed until officially confirmed...

Always so many rumors. Let’s see when we get some official confirmation. Why would Defected do 2 nights in a row? I would never do that. Lots of Defected people go to Glitterbox… Sunday was perfect.
