Been the same names and same music everywhere for years, can only think of pikes and akasha that have almost daily alternatives to that sound nowadays

Looking forward to seeing him on 8 October,not seen him play for a good few years. I did Boho once at Chinois musically it was so so good .

to be a bit more specific:

the date at amnesia this may was, AFAIK, just busy enough. if they added more dates, it would simply dilude the attendance more.

genuinely I believe they do the right thing right now. one annual big happening in september in 528 and a monthly sven session in akasha.
september is when all the regulars come back for the big one and having one per month in akasha is to make sure everyone can see sven during the summer (apart form his other appearances at dc10 etc)

Very nice selection from Janina and the warm up before. Some electro there. Niice.
Its a small club with friendly good crowd, busy.
Radio Slave was very groovy and very tight. Percussive house tunes and everyones hips was moving.

I am not convinced there is no chance. If Cocoon could not work, why would Pyramid work? Also, there was a time when Cocoon was busier than Resistance, what changed?

I think the mistake the poster made above that lists the lineup is that was the lineup 15 years ago. There would be new guests that are more 2025 appropriate that would help build the night.

IMO, Cocoon at Amnesia didn't come to an because there was something wrong with it. It came to an end because of the rise of Circo Loco on the same night, at a time when there wasn't much techno / techhouse crowd to go around

Again, what is better about Pyramid as a brand vs Cocoon?

Sven is still headlining festivals all over the world

the question isn't what's better, the question is what's different.

cocoon have always been pretty clear that they will open up their sonic horizon up to a certain extent, but not more than that.
pyramid have tried many things soundwise and are still doing so. some of it with success, some less sucessful.

for example, cocoon putting up hard techno line ups as pyramid does nowadays simply wouldn't be cocoon in today's day and age, end of the story.

cocoon have realised that if they wanted to keep doing a weekly residency, they would have to open up to sounds and artists that just aren't cocoon, since the artists apart from sven that brough the night the punters (carola, hawtin, luciano, RV etc) have simply mostly started doing their own thing.

in short, cocoon simply realised they would have to change into something they don't want to to keep having a successful weekly residency.
