Looks like Trip at Chinois has been cancelled until October, this week will be the last edition until then. Wounded its got the axe the week before I had tickets.
 
Very sad. Was it due to numbers as this week’s line-up is excellent - Margaret Dygas & Ivan Smagghe, and last week’s was very strong - Midland, Peach, & Craig Richards.

This really has become such an unpredictable season in Ibiza.

I feel for johannes, I was hoping trip would make it through the season, but the wednesday slot was very hard for them. not just because of the silly stiff competition, but also - and I think mostly - a lot of the crowd that would go to trip is a crowd that cannot go out wednesday nights. a lot of ex cocooners living on the island would be going to trip if it was fri or sat night. and a lot of those people, by now, have more 'normal' jobs so they can't go crazy midweek anymore. we've actually discussed exactly this the other day.

as gutted as I am for trip, I'm not surprised it happened that way.

Sadly agree and wish it had been on a Friday or Saturday (or even a Thursday).

Anyone go to Pyramid on Sunday? Intrigued about the Raresh/Villalobos/Stussy B2B2B. Looked busy on socials. Would love to have been there.
 
Trip has been cancelled/ cancelling their events in august and September… this is about the 4th party I’ve seen this happen to this year? I’ve never seen it happen before, either I just didn’t notice… or UNVRS has truly taken its toll on the events on the island. Big names are just too powerful atm, music on, anything UNVRS Hi and Uschuia all thriving.
 
It's pretty normal that this happens anything between two and half a dozen parties every season.

What's perhaps more surprising, is that TRIP is an established party four years deep and that hasn't recently switched venues (although it did move to a less busy day of the week). But it underlines that midweek tourist dip and the fact the number of potential clubbers on the island in these periods is not sustainable for the total overall capacity available - and, yes, that is largely a result of UNVRS opening in 2025 although perhaps unfair to say there are not wider factors at play

Fair enough I think it’s because this year I had microhertz cancel which I had tickets for and I’ve just had my eyes open a bit more, I’ve seen third dimension cancel, secret sessions, now trip, there’s been others… Strange though because all I hear about Ibiza is “it’s over crowded there’s too many people coming”… I just feel like the big branded names / internet sensations are cleaning up atm. Making it very hard for the smaller events and djs to get out there.

I think UNVRS possibly is down on what they expected too - especially for drinks spend.

It’s end of July / early August this week - traditionally one of the busiest weeks of the year - and every night at UNVRS & Hi has free resident / workers entry all night, besides Guetta & Elrow at UNVRS.

if you actually read this thread…I have been saying for a while that so far, the island isn't as busy as usual for the period we are in.

combine this with a ton of parties to choose from and the result is: something's gotta give.

Yeah makes sense, at first I thought nice a lot of variety but yeah it’s narrowing down again by force
