not sure if it was posted here or in a different thread, but remember that a about ten days ago ushuaïa posted on their socials saying you can't bring in alcoholic drinks if you're a hotel guest? they took the post down but AFAIK the rule will still apply.

Crackers.

Crackers.
All joking aside but aren't you staying there for the VIP treatment? Surely it's not on the Vegas standard of service but do people stay more than 2 or 3 nts there?.. and if you are saving all year do you want to be on the balcony drinking lidl beers..

Will go on the Island for a few days ( 12 -17of July) !Nowadays I still go 2,3 time during the season but not going out that much except at the end of Sept when I always do some good party !
Was wondering if there are some good party during that time (Friday 12- Wednesday 17) , as I will be with some party people from Barcelona that wants to party !
Already check the calendar but except Dixon and Solomun at Pacha I don’t see something else ! Will probably do solomun but wondering if he will do an after party afterwards ( i know , not easy to access the private one , but is he still doing some in toxic ?)
On Monday no Cocoon ?but pyramid instead , don’t think pyramid as good following of real party people ? Maybe i’m Wrong ... don’t know !
Pikes still doing good staff ? Haven’t been for a while !
If you have some good plan it would be really nice ?
✌?

Do you think it will be only on party days that they enforce this rule?

Maybe they just think that the 50% of people that stay at Ushuaia and don’t spend an extra cent there (just a guess), are not actually that much of a cash cow for them. If it’s average of €350 a night, and the people in that room spend €0 additional money in that venue, then they need about say 5-6 extra punters through the door at an event to make for the loss? Most people I know that have stayed there eat outside (Passion Cafe), bring in own drinks and spend zero at the venue.

So if you’ve already booked on a room only basis, you’re now being forced to go all inclusive. But the twist is... drinks are not included. And to get a drink, you must now pay an exceptionally high price for the privilege. Not a care for the freedoms of the customer nor the local retail businesses in the resort.

Will they control all the bags? ?
I’ve never stayed there before but this year for my 30th I thought I would go big and stay for 7 nights in Ushuaïa. Thinking I would “save money” by being able to have a few drinks in my room and get free entry to the parties. Not sure how they will control it but I’m going to be trying to take as much duty free as I can in my suitcase when I check in and sneak bits and bobs as I go.

I’ll keep people informed on how they try to control this rule. I go in a few weeks.

Thanks Stivi, my friends and I were worried about this. For the last 5 years we've been going to the Ushuaïa Opening, getting a room for like 10 people and bringing the alcohol in the suitcases of the 2 people who "officially" stay at the hotel. We still have the reservation for this year...do you think they will open the suitcases to look inside?

Anyway, I will keep you all updated.

How do 10 of you get in the room? If this is what goes on in most rooms i can kind of see Ushuaias pov but its not fair on people that just want a few beers on their balcony and not pay €15 each for the privilege

To have some privacy during the party.

We've just been told by Ushuaïa staff that they won't open suitcases. You can bring alcohol for you and your friends. According to them, other years there were people going outside to the supermarket in the middle of the party and entering back to Ushuaïa with shopping carts full of alcohol in order to sell it inside. That's what they want to avoid.

But as long as you bring alcohol in your suitcase only for you and your friends (just some beers and 2-3 bottles) there will be no problem.
