*** ibiza gossip 2019 ***

If that's the direction they're going, I'm a bit surprised. Sinclar is a bigger draw than Solveig, to begin with, and Solveig already had a residency which did not last much.

I went at Solveig's night at Pacha before (2017) and I can tell you that the place was jam pack (we had a great night meeting alot of Frenchs). To me Solveig is better than Sinclair since years now, he is EDM (but not big room) as far as I can tolerate and actualy appreciate it. Solveig's numbers in 2017 were far better than Cocoon's numbers in 2018 in my own experience...

The only way to fill up a club like privilege is to play mass compatible music. People there want to hear the same as in their gyms , only louder.

i have a strong hunch Solveig isn't for me these days (even though as a producer he made some awesome tunes in the distant past - seek and ye shall find on discogs) and wild horses wouldn't drag me to a Steve Aoki event (unless the entrance also included 5x consumición and complimentary custard pies)

now if you want serious music, there are still options - a bit of cursory homework will point you in the right direction.

On a strictly personal level (leaving crowd/venue/expense aside), my own top 10 would be:

  1. Paramida @ DC10
  2. Juju & Jordash @ DC10
  3. Homies @ Pikes (they just announced monthly dates through the summer)
  4. DJ Harvey @ Pikes (*tbc)
  5. Dixon & Marcus Worgull @ Pacha
  6. Henrik Schwarz @ DC10
  7. Heidi Lawden @ HI
  8. Ruf Dug @ Pikes
  9. Fonoteca @ Cafe Malanga
  10. Any interesting live stuff at Dalias etc

so all the grim reapers on here sounding the Vegas klaxon, don't despair, all is not lost!

No Amnesia , no Privilege , no Amnesia in this list. Ok , Solomun or Carola can be a nice party. Black Coffee too.

For me Heart has a good music policy. That melodic downtempo house which is often played there is my favourite sound at these times ( and FGP too ,maybe ). Ibiza has something for everyone if you search for it.

I would rather go to the dentist then spend even 5 minutes at Carola but to each their own..

the point I was making though is that there are options - i'd say that on paper at least there are probably more options for people like me than this time last year - whether I'll get to make it across this summer is another matter though..

ps / the word "melodic" is quite dangerous I find. Everybody on here thinks that their own preferred music is "melodic".. Having said that, there is certain music I would listen to in IBZ that I wdn't go near elsewhere. all about the context, ingredients, goodwill etc

you might wanna be here for 16th august.

And Circoloco? we are less than 3 weeks away from the opening!

do Circo loco release the opening early tho - as week to week its only after the preceding party is done
i can't recall

lots of late announcements but perhaps reflective of the number of events doing limited or high-season only parties

Looking at options and it seems like a lot is going down on May 17. Starting to feel spoiled for choice. Your mileage may vary, but its a good kickoff to the weekend...

-Homies @ Pikes
-NoW @ Milanga
-Defected Opening @ Eden

No jokes, I might even put on muh yellow speedo and hit OB!

Hi Stivi, Malanga Cafe?? Sounds interesting, is it ticketed? Do they have live music as well as DJs. If so what type/s? Hoping to catch some live music in September. Any advice on venues to look into would be appreciated.
