*** ibiza gossip 2019 ***

I see Danny Kay is again reporting gossip as news, this time with the rumour guetta is moving to hi. I wish he would give it a rest and change the context. It’s as if he was scouting on here in the last couple of hours.

Of more interest in his gossip is that Urgell disclosed guetta was getting a salary of €3.2m out of pacha in 2015. Is this the case? It passed me by if so. Kay goes onto say Solomun is getting close to similar money

HaHa, was that after I mentioned it in passing above? Re. Guetta, suppose that sum above is about c.€150,000 a night and that must be his going rate? Consider back then he was filling a club with 3,000+ people a night at 50-100€ each + VIP + Merchandise... etc etc

Yes mate! Tell us what you know?! Ha.

Interesting numbers, they had passed me by as it’s not really my market.

Heard a few people say a move to Hï, or a move to Friday's at Pacha. I could see the attraction of putting him on a weekend night if I owned a club.

I suppose that would leave a vacant slot of Thursday at Pacha wouldn't it...;)

Also got to consider his full schedule. He usually does a lot of European festivals on weekends and some years has also been to Vegas and back in between doing Pacha Thursdays and Ushuaia Mondays.

Playing Friday and Monday may work, but Saturday and Monday for example may cut things too fine with the travel and miss other lucrative events.

That said he may be getting sick of the ridiculous schedule, last year was the first for years where he stayed at Pacha for September and didn't do Vegas.

What do you mean by better? Do you prefer the line-ups with the more established DJs i.e. Hawtin, Beyer, Villalobos...... or the ones with newer ones like Alicante, Peggy Gou, Nina Kraviz? etc

Both types. TBH I think Sven's popularity is waning and he needs some strong supporting artists from either the oldies or the new breed.

Nevertheless, I enjoy nights like Cocoon which provided a much needed breather for me personally from the madness of Resistance and Circo Loco the nights before but I'm sure Pacha and co. rather have more ppl.

Yo unpopular opinion...Solomun + 1 takes a numbers hit this season

I remember when Avicii(not my music) got paid 80 Euros a night (whole night) at a friends place.
Don´t know why they got paid so much in Ibiza, when better d.j´s don´t get much.

no gossip but just confirmed: hi and ushuaïa openings are a week earlier than last year. the saturday before IMS instead of the one after. ushuaïa did have pre season ants, but now both openings are sat 18th may.

I thought this season's Cocoon line-up was pretty strong and with plenty of interesting names thrown in.

Perhaps people were put off by Pacha? Although if that was true, it would be a shame, as the soundsystem and layout are now far better than before.

makes perfect sense for guetta to move finally. with the old management gone there is no reason for him to stick around if someone else pays the fees. also while it seemed ok for urgell that david also plays for the matutues, the new owners might disagree about his double engagement every week.
