He can be shouting whatever he want, I like the music and a cold beer.
er, ok.. what's your point caller?
*as for JV's point about who's pushing things forward? loadsa folk - off top of head Joy Orbison, Gatto Fritto, Tim J Fairplay, Prins Thomas, Etienne Jaumet, Ripperton, Sottofett, Hieroglyphic Being, Red Axes, Mushrooms Project... (or tune into Rinse or NTS - am way out of touch). If you're referring to big venue dance 'bands' of the 90s I think those days are dead in the water, because nobody really has the charisma or the crossover appeal anymore to make any money so the new niche scenes are only going to ever get much live exposure at multi-lineup festies.
I think the most interesting music now has slowed right down tempo-wise, partly because there is an older crowd who want things less hectic and partly because that area hadn't really been explored by producers since the 80s and new producers are finding you can do an awful lot with slow sleazy analogue basslines #justsaying
I know IBZ is always hamstrung in how far it can push the leftfield because it has seasonal commercial pressures to worry about, but I think the tendency is to play it
too safe with familiar brand names that won't scare the horses... so if the likes of KINK, Helena Hauff and Peggy Gou do break through with the tourists, then I see that as a good thing
