@McRackin @stivi does Spanish licencing law allow venues/promoters to apply for a T.E.N - or equivalent??? I always assumed they did, and this was how the closing parties were allowed to operate later.

Do they need to shut at 5am now too? I thought that they just needed to stop playing music at this time????

I was gonna say, officially surely it isn't much difference. Is it an empty gesture? I guess we'll find out in 7-or-so months to what degree the will enforce these changes.

that's what nobody seems to be getting and I tried to say it in my post: there already WERE existing closing hours and they were 6 AM (for the music to stop). It was never really enforced though, and as long as that isn't the case this law will make ZERO difference to clubbing in ibiza.
I'm just afraid that together with the "new" law these hours will be enforced MUCH stricter :/

Ahh, I thought the music had to stop at 06:45. That's what it did for Cream this year and both Creams last year
 
As I predicted in another thread, Amnesia's flouting of the closing time law has come back to haunt them and other venues.

side note - i thought the current 6am closing time was combined with a 1 hour grace period for people to leave.... so the clubs had until 7 technically to close their doors.

Going much later than 7 seems to only be a recent development. I've been going to Ibiza since 1996 (not every year) and for a many of those years the clubs all closed at 6/7am and it wasn't that big of a deal - granted for 2 nights you could walk right back into Space or DC10 at 8am.

I agree... other than Music On how many other clubs/parties go much longer than 7ish anyway?
 
If they actually enforce this, and it seems like they may based on how strict they were at the end of the year....we may be seriously seeing the decline of the island with Space closing as well. Sad.

I guess how much longer is subjective, but I guess Amnesia for nights like Cocoon, Together, and Hyte, it all stopped pretty much at 730. But I think Solomon +1 went on longer?

I guess these clubs would end around around 7 or 8 anyway but it's always 'nice' to not have restrictions so you have the option of wilding out even longer. I was hoping to check out music on next season and experience Amnesia at like 9 AM. Hopefully nothing much will change

i think Solomun went to 745 when i was there in Sept.

To quibble over 1 hour is kinda silly IMO.... just go to the club 1 hour earlier :)


it is kinda cool partying in Amnesia in the sunlight but that's also prob a sign its time to go home lol

Isn't Space gonna be converted into Ushauia Club as someone wrote here? Don't know if that's true. There will still be something!
