ibiza 2019 observations

On a serious note at another festival in Cork they are dropping like flies with some dodgy pills ? hospital are getting grief for tweeting for people don't take these if you do seek medical assistants. Be safe and know what you are taking.. Idiots tweeting So you are telling people to take drugs now WTF. Hospital tweeed No we are trying to save life's.

I know I put this in wrong thread at the weekend ? not the update we need to hear

Pure Pacha last night

Numbers wise, this was fairly busy - a lot busier than Dixon last Friday (26/07), but still not overly packed.

It's been commented before, especially from @mr_why I think, about the strange programming for this night - and we certainly had some interesting results!

Arrived for the last half hour of Tiga. When we first got there, he was playing that dark pop he does so well, but then ended on pretty hard techno (for Pacha on a Saturday night) for the last three or so tracks.

Handing over to Martin Solveig was always going to be an interesting one - and moreso now! He began on one of his older hit, Hello - quite the change of direction!!

We dipped in and out of the rest of his set, visiting the Funky Room which was good musically, but only a dozen or so people inside, and also a few stop on the rooftop. The rest of Solveig's set was an experience. He played everything from David Guetta, to classic Faithless and even Adam Beyer & Bart Skils' Your Mind(!!!) and Four Tet's remix of Nelly Furtado - plus loads of his own well known records, of course. Very weird mix. But I have to say, I didn't hate it.

Then at 04:30 it was time for Krystal Klear B2B Artwork - and this was what we were all most looking forward to. Pretty much as soon as Solveig had finished, a lot of the tourists left, and this worked just fine for me. Now more space to properly dance. Predictably, they were a class act and worked really well together. What I loved is that they obviously both worked really hard in that set, as well as enjoying themselves. Can't be certain of course, but if I had to guess, I would think both sober. Here's a few tracks from a clear highlight of the night:

(don't be put off by the label, Lifelike and Kris Menace still producing great tracks)

One last thing: Pacha's sound system still sounding incredible! I really love all of structural changes they've made the past two years.

Soundsystem is wonderful. But when I was in at June it was a little distorted at Flower Power and good at Solomun. Some DJ seem to use the master Volume and the Bass eq a little excessive. Maybe its the best in Ibz.
Heart also has a good one.

Pacha used to do some of these pop-up parties a few years back for Insane [old Friday party 2013-6] if I recall. I mean great if you are in the area, but not sure I'd plan to go to it for 30 mins....
