ibiza 2019 observations

I’m feeling that the bouncers have to be hard. This party was always known for blatant drug taking long time ago. And they was getting a lot of grief because of this back in the noughtys. with all the social media nowadays they can’t afford to be so obvious, very easy to be on video taking a cheeky bump or necking a pill so they have to be tough. I think People just need to be a bit more discreet when taking stuff.
Jesus, it doesn’t excuse extortion by bouncers. What comes next is the question you have to ask if this continues to be excused. It’s going to end up very messy with a lot of casualties and not in a good way.

But those idiots indulging in public deserve what they get. I agree, discretion needs to be exercised.

Times have changed. Public indulgence by the public and extortion and incursion by security does not make for a good atmosphere. This won’t won’t end well.

A guy was stabbed in the head tonight in san an, next to egg roundabout. There was a 2 on 6 fight and to be honest the 2 guys would have had them. The 6 couldn’t fight at all and were relying on numbers. They ran off and then came back and caught him in the head with the knife. I didn’t see that happen but some other guys in the bar saw a knife. They guy was pissing blood from his head but last time i saw him he was chatting, so fingers crossed he’s ok.

guarda nowhere to be seen???

how the world has changed in the last two decades eh
Absolutely true. A lot of things haven't changed for the better but less folk driving about absolutely off their chops (shamed to admit I was one of those back in the day) the better.

Never the guy driving that gets killed, always some poor chap out for a walk that gets it.

When you think back to just how many cars you used to see at Space Amnesia etc the mind boggles!

Probably my first trip ever where I didn't go to San Antoni, Ibiza Town or Playa d'en Bossa once in 5 days despite going through over 3/4 of a tank of fuel and hitting every side of the island. I really enjoyed it and didn't feel I missed out on anything. Always used to crave a bit of hustle and bustle to counteract the quieter times but having done it all differently I think this is the way forward for me.

Now that reasonably priced available decent accommodation with parking is basically history in all those centres, and not needing access to a marina as I forgot to renew my boat licence in time so couldn't rent (really need to sort that out), there's less and less reason to go anywhere near them.

DC10 very full last night for Cuttin' Headz x FUSE. Not Circoloco closing busy, but the terrace brimming by 2am. Still space in the club room if you wanted it.

Musically, neither party is my thing. Plus I was driving. Probably ill advised to do sober taking both factors into consideration!

After last weekend's epiphany, I'm back to not being DC10 biggest fan again!

I can't take it when it's shoulder to shoulder out the door... Too much bumping together and not enough dancing; though I suppose I'm only up to dancing for an hour anyway.

Been walking around San Antonio today and I’ve never seen it so empty. Not many bars with more than a few people in. Outside mambo was the only busy ish place, the rest of the terrace had barely more than 10 people altogether. Currently in Itaca and it seems as usual along this row of bars though

Several things are contributing to San An being on the decline.

The exchange rate for the pound is poor, Ibiza has always been a premium prices destination but its more expensive than ever at the minute.

O Beach looks busier than ever, which on one hand is great for San An, but on the other if you've spent a day in there you are likely be skint and tired and unlikely to be out in San An Town later on.

The West End closing times have killed the atmosphere down there. Used to like watching the chaos from the terrace of a bar, but now your forced inside at midnight it kills the vibe. The music in the bars is now limited, I actually miss cheesy EDM blasting in my ears. Then theres the 3am closing time, this is fine if your heading to a club, but if you are just staying in San An it isnt late enough.

A few bars havent moved with the times though, im quite anti-VIP culture but theres no excuse for sticky floors, dodgy spirits and bad toilets that some West End places still have.

The West End may be dead, but San Antonio is most certainly not. It's busy everywhere else I look, including along the promenade venues.
