HTC or IPhone?

I have an otter cover for my S3, I have a tendency to drop phones. Great piece of kit.

I bought this for mine and it mounts on my bike handlebars with a click-in slot. Real-time SatNav .. which runs concurrently with my music stream - plus it looks like something out of Black Ops so might even stand up to the abuse I give it !

How is battery life on the s3? I know/expect the i phone to have a crap battery span.

It's not great if you use SatNav a lot (lasts about 3/4 of a day). But it'll play music endlessly without losing much power. I bought a 2nd battery from Saner which is just as good as the OEM one, along with a desktop charger with extra battery slot and a portable power bank - so there's always power !

It's a wonderful machine :)
Best thing I've ever bought. And It's in a beautiful GarnetRed too :D

Haha - mine's a Garnet Red too. But that's because I bought an unlocked one from HK and it was the cheapest model. Only way to sensibly deal with the 2-year contract fiasco - no-one's getting me to commit to anything for 24 months, least of all a poxy mobile phone company :spank:

One thing i really like about it is that you don't need your music actually on the phone to be able to play it. Leaves a lot of memory free for other things. As far as im aware you had to have your music on your phone if you wanted to play it on the iphone.

I absolutely detest itunes to which puts me off iphone when it's so easy to drag and drop. Think Im sold and I have never even seen one yet

I hammer my S3 all day and the battery holds up pretty good (new toy you have to play with it). love the music feature on the S3.

Samsung galaxy note 4 is my current device, absolutely love the thing. First phone I have had where using the internet on the go is not a chore due to generous screen size. The stylus pen is great for scribbling notes on the go. If you do work on the move and would like something that can handle the job yet fits in your pocket, this device is a belter. Camera / video are stupidly good. Downside for some people is obviously the size.

I've got the iPhone 6. Not impressed really, Apple keep pissing about with the music and I keep having to reorganise my playlists then sync again. Plus they build the things to deteriorate over time. Samsung for me next time I think.

Camera, display and battery life are good, but I'm sure they are on iPhone's rivals too

What phones do we like now?

Battered S3 mini needs a rest - S6 or Iphone 6?
I have s6 after iPhone. I like the camera and screen which are really good, plus it's bigger. I also prefer the android features like usb on the go and just using it as a USB stick. The 64gb option is pretty cheap now.

Battery life is similar to iPhone but has fast charge . 20 mins can get you from 15% up to 50%+.

But as with most things it's a personal preference.

Don't listen to music on a phone at all, can't see I ever will

Btw when I say use like usb stick I mean simply drag files onto it (any file type) and off as required. Drop music pictures or videos into folders on it. Music videos and pics just appear in right apps.
If you create a folder "holiday ibiza" and put pics in it. You get album on phone called that. Not some random folder name. Apple iTunes made me want to kill people in that regards lol

Yeah, I'm thinking S6. My S3 mini is still working fine, but the screens cracked and the chap I use for such things said a second hand S3 would be £130, and the screen repair wouldn't be much less. I've got a boxfresh Blackberry but the net is just too slow on them...

My daughter (16)got a 5c in july. Shes pleased with it, it gets a serious of use as you can imagine.
25pm.

I recently went from S4 to S5. Was put off the S6 as I like to carry a spare battery as I'm fairly snap happy on holiday.

Care to elaborate Dirkster? I need for emails, Facebook, taking photos and videos of my kids. Iphone 6 seems to be £20 a month more so £480 over a 2 year contract - what's better about the Iphone?

For me it is the connectivity with my MacBook and iPad, I take a photo on my iPhone and it then appears on them.

Having seen other operating systems, IOS can't be beaten for ease of use.

Apple pay is fanastic, when getting a coffee for example I can show my loyalty card from my phone and then pay by touching my thumb on it. Believe London tubes also take apple pay so no more need for Oyster cards and this will expand to others.

I have dumped my small camera as the iPhone takes better photos, especially in dark club type environments.

Finally, it is far cooler than anything else and people know the only real reason you don't have one is that you couldn't afford it.

IPhone with Mac is a good combo for ease of use. For techy people and interoperability with other other devices bit tricker (find miracast useful to mirror tv on phone/phone on TV and streaming, usb support on pc etc) ironically my s6 cost more than the iPhone 6, but tbf it was 64gb model.

I'd suggest waiting until mid sept when the iPhone 6s etc are launched.

The other consideration is the missus, who is an Apple fan-girl. I don't know if there is more fun in refusing to join the club, or in getting the six to make her jealous:lol:
