HTC or IPhone?

For many years I have had my trusty HTC tytnII. It has served me well but it is time for a new model. The processor and windows mobile originally lured me to the htc (and keyboard (rarely used)). The new look windows mobile looks pretty nifty but will doubtless be bug ridden for a while.

Friends who use an iphone seem incapable of a discussion about alternatives to the iphone thinking I am insane for thinking there is an alternative!

The HTC desire looks like a decent phone to me, reviews I have read on the net seem to be divided, the only upside of the iphone seems to be the screen quality?

Has anyone had experience of both phones, any other input appreciated, any other top end phones due out?

I like the android system over the iphone. The android OS is open source and is as good if not better than the iphone IMO

HTC, I was on HTC / or Iphone dilemma, Before "signing up" to another 18 month contract I bought a s/h HTC wildfire to try, (Iphone is 300€ on contract!), It is exelent, I have had virtually every "Smart" phone since palm/XDA days,(not i phone, but have an ipod touch) they have all been ****e, HTC & Android ,,,,,, welll It just works :) Iphone if you want to look trendy, HTC if you want it to work and not pay an arm a leg and a chicken for apps music etc,

i have a htc wildfire and do not have a bad thing to say about it...most of my mates have an iphone and they are always having issues with them

I have an HTC wildfire and find that it is slow, freezes alot and the touchscreen doesn't work too well (maybe iv'e just got a duff one then). I wish i had bought an Iphone.

iphones are just better. F.A.C.T.

anyone who disagrees and likes android or HTC or whatever bullsh!t is a whackjob and highly likely to respond to this with some brainiac reply about processors and flux-capacitators.

+ 1 . F.A.C.T.

i had a friend who chose a windows phone 7 over an iphone...we don't speak anymore.

I do love my iPhone, the screen quality is immense, it's so slick and simple to use and is overall a very high quality package. BUT no flash player support is very annoying and does seriously limit it's browsing capabilities. They really should sort it out, it would literally be the perfect phone if they did. The Desire Hd does look great too, but it's very big, I think just a bit too big to be pocket friendly.

Do you work for apple?;)

No Flash on Iphone ? hmm I suppose it isnt` used much :) (I presume you cam pay for an app to get round it?) will an Iphone act as a wireless hotspot ? , NO, Am I tied to crappy Itunes, NO, Do I pay for most apps ,NO , Can I modify them on Iphone NO, And a whole load of other reasons HTC / Android for me :)

Proving once again that Apple products are just toys for people who don't understand technology ;)

Android is the way forward, no matter what phone you decide to get. Oh sorry Apple has it own mobile OS, so any phone but the Iphone.

Talking to someone yesterday with Iphone,They said no wireless hotspot, eg phone will use it`s 3g connection to provide a wifi hotspot for your laptop etc, out the box :)

OK, had my new HTC Sensation for a few days now, having had chance to explore what it offers and in truth have only scratched the surface.

Visually, it is stunning, the 4.3" gorilla glass display is incredible and affords lovely web surfing etc, basically it looks a class apart from the iphone.

HTC Sense is superb, remarkably responsive, flawless.

The built in speaker is miles better than the iphone (something no review even mentions). You can listen to music without the need for a docking station. With speaker or earphones, the sound quality is immense.

Video, blimey, full wide-screen HD playback and record is simply breathtaking.

Camera, 8 mega pixels with excellent flash, better than any dedicated digital camera I have ever owned.

Android Gingerbread os, full open source and a zillion apps to chose from.

The phone can be turned into a wifi hotspot which is a nice geeky feature.

Connections are a 3.5mm jack and mini usb.

The iphone has been knocked well and truly off it's perch, the HTC Sensation is the new daddy.

HTC for me also... mainly due to its better reception for the simple feature that all phones were made for................receiving and making calls.

I found I Phone reception and battery life poor but apart from that a cool phone.

Yes, I forgot to mention the little bit about the actual phone:oops:

Overall the reception is better than my previous HTC, BUT it sometimes shows three or four bars (previously never went above two) which completely disappear briefly before coming back on. Now for instance next to my old phone, new phone shows four bars, old phone two. If I move my phone six inches, the four bars vanish before reappearing as two or three.

Frustrating, might still have to buy a femtocell device.
