When i used to buy records in mass amounts, would talk to one of the record shop dudes that was linked to a promoter (he is now a dj) - he told me what the djs got for playing Glasgow

That was about 10 years ago and the one i remember was Todd Terry was £10,000 + first class flights, 5* hotel and all the perks associated.

Some of the others he mentioned were ludicrous amounts especially given the years involved.


Rumour had it that Oakenfold was contracted to play The Tunnel in Glasgow 1/2 times a year for nowt due to his involvement in Big Beat (who owned the venue) - so that the club would be rammed - Oakenfold reaping the benefits of his ties with the group

i have had the unfortunate displeasure of the company of franny jeffers' brother on several occasions. i used to be able to get a freebie for goodison tickets, which was always good for a laugh as a kopite.

his brother is probably one of the most snide, scally, one brain celled arlarses i have come across. scum of the earth.

dunno about franny but your story seems to suggest their of similar ilk.
