How did you meet your current partner?

Updates?

I met the current Mrs B at Trade at Turmills one Sunday about 8 years ago. After 6 months or so my (then!) inability to keep it in my pants made itself known to her and though we struggled on for a bit, it was over.

8 years later she messages me out of the blue on Facebook. The next night I'm on a date, walking down the road hand-in-hand, and who should come the other way but she?

Arranged to go for a drink and all casuals were binned in her favour.

Life is good8)

Nope... Still with the same wife

One wonders - whom does Chewie prefer? The current missus Spacemonkey or his ex mentioned above  I hear the ex had a sister who's still hanging around his house. 8O

I am odd, and I like odd, odd's good :D :P
Aww... I miss Leese

I've always found meeting people through clubs/after parties to be high-risk because those same people in civvie life can be very different, especially if the only thing you really have in common is a mutual taste for getting high. However, I have arranged a date-of-sorts with a lovely lady on Monday, who like me is half English/Spanish, and who I'm taking for a drink on a boat on the Thames (craftily selected to have a guaranteed tv screen in one corner showing the big game). Rather excited and (inevitably) will screw it up.

She very, very rarely drinks these days and is a fitness freak vegeterian and I drink no more than any other son of an honest Irish subcontractor:lol:.

I couldn't be*, or be with, a caner anymore.

Good luck for Monday Olly -

*first week in June 2010 in Ibiza being the exception that proves the rule

it's interesting how things subtly change as you move through your 30s - there's inevitably a lot fewer girls out in your clubs, within your age range and those who are, are often :

a/ foreign/from out of town and not likely to hang around in London too long

b/ slightly kooky - which I love in friends but not what I'm drawn to beyond that

c/ other people's girlfriends/wives/mothers - all of which have their respective merits/pitfalls - but I'd rather meet someone with no baggage

d/ only interested in coke

from personal experience, it's not a rewarding fishing ground

As my grandad used to say 'there's a bum for every seat' ;)

I found that when I actively looked for it, it never happened how I wanted. But if I was chilled and didnt stress about finding a burd they would come along more easily. :?

Timely thread - my 6th wedding anniversary tomorrow!

..and ten years together in Jan!

@ Buckers - that is fate / a sign / good luck/ whatever you want to call it - it's pretty cool when things like that happen.

@ Olly - nice work, hope you have a good night mate.

I moved in next door to my wife a few years ago. I was in and out of casual relationships and for the first six months did not even set eyes on her.

My elder step brother, one evening after a night out, brought two young lovely girls back to the house and my wife was one of them. I ended up having some interference with her mate but nothing progressed. A few weeks later I saw my wife at her bedroom window, I was due on a night out, a Friday so nothing too heavy. I spoke to her briefly. I was a cheeky little sh1t in those days and told her that I would pop round after my night out to which she just .

My mediocre Freitag nicht came and went and I caught the last bus home. As I walked into our street I noticed that her bedroom light was on, it was only about 11.45pm. Rather than knock on the door, I climbed onto the flat roof which gave me access to to her curtain covered window. I knocked on as hard as I could, screams coming from inside as the curtains were pulled back they (wife and mum) revealing a 7 pinted deepseadiver leaning on the single glazed wooden window frame.

They opened the window and I climbed in. Wife took me downstairs and things went on from there.

That was nearly 23 years ago, two houses and 2 stunning young daughters later!

They'd seen what you were knocking with?
