I spent most of 2003 working in my first real job out of university, and part of the job had me working internationally for six months, specifically in the midlands (Derbyshire). I had a great time, including my first trip to the white isle. Needless to say my lack of focus that summer led to a sacking.
Never one to get to down on myself, I began making plans. It helped that the company had placed my belongings in storage while I was in the UK, and it was paid for a few months. I had no job and no stuff. I decided that I would go somewhere to learn spanish, of which I already had some knowledge before returning to school to get a master's degree. I chose Argentina since it was cheap at the time, due to an economic collapse two years prior. I was to spend three months there.
I met my Mrs in an Irish pub in downtown Buenos Aires "The Kilkenny". She says that she saw me, and knew that we would be married one day. So she walked by hoping that I would notice. Nothing. Twice. Nothing.
I was in my own world because I had problems with another girl I had been seeing during my time there.
She was out with friends so they took it upon themselves to get my attention. They threw popcorn at me until I turned around (angry). They invited me to their table and introduced us. We spent christmas and new years together over the time I had there. I left Argentina not really thinking we would keep it up.
After a couple of long distance years we decided that she move up to Washington DC where I was living at the time. About a year later in 2007 we were married.
We celebrated ten years married this past spring. In 09, we went to Kilkenny Ireland in honor of the bar where we met.

I met my gf at a pub in Hove called the Cooper's Cask in Feb 2014. Both steaming. My friend was djing and asked me to form a wall to stop her making requests (dylan, kasabian.... and even worse) we accidentally collided and a whole new adventure began..
