Sadly this year has been really big for muggings by groups of spanish guys, i was working out there for 3 months and there were 4-5 reports of muggings a week in same area by group of spanish guys , in the end we had enuff so a few of us workers just took sum poles n things n went lookin, found em sure enuff in same spot ran at em n they legged it, musta scared um cause i neva heard of a mugging afta that.

I don't condone violence but it sure would be nice to give em a taste of their own medicine.

N8: The security people at Pacha took me outside and robbed/beat me you and your security people in clubs eh, same old story. Tsk

Cos native means people born there and she is giving for sure that people born in Ibiza is being agressive with tourists. And I would like to know how many people born in Ibiza she knows and why does she is so sure that agressions come from Eivissencs

Surely she's just saying that the lads spoke Spanish so probably lived there and took advantage of worse for wear tourists. In the same way if you are a tourist in somewhere like Oxford Street there will be groups of English youths looking to mug you. I've never had any problems in Ibiza but I'm sure they exist as they do in all countries. When it comes down to it every country has it's w@nkers!

For your info and Small jinx info, most eivissencs doesn't speak spanish, they speak catalan and as it was said in other post the other week most of you seem to forgot that spanish is talked in half of the world besides spain.
So don't be that basic in your conclusions cos you risk to go wrong.

Sorry Silv, just messing with ya! Do you think we'd all go back year after year if wethought the Spanish were that bad? I certainly feel much safer in Ibiza than I do in London, put it that way!

if any of the spanish regions have the most laid back (is that the word?) people in the country this is Eivissa. People there grow up totally linked to the environement, to the sea, to the woods and to that freedom vibe we like so much. THey have more in common to the old hippies than to the actual techno kids.
I'm not saying it didn't happend and I don't say Eivissa without tourists would be a crime fre heaven but I'm sure it would be more quiet on this sense.

can i just add my tuppence worth.

1. of course there is crime in ibiza but the number of denuncias to the guardia plummets dramatically out of tourist season.

2. much of the opportunistic/violent crime in san an and other parts of the island is perpetrated by south american immigrants (usually illegal) from colombia and equador (at least if the reports in ddi are to be believed)

criminals target ibiza because it's full of off guard tourists. it's been happening for years in nearly every big tourist resort in the med. i can remember my first trip to spain 30 years ago - scooter passengers were snatching handbags from unsuspecting strollers every day.

I think all you've said is right. I just don't believe that 100% of the islands born inhabitants are good people because no where in the world is this the case

Also, the word native can be used to describe people belonging to a place or region so it's correct to use the term native for people from the whole of Spain also.

Mambo, I'm not discussing the meaning, what I'm asking for is don't appeal my hipotetical language problems when I entitle different opinion than yours. As I said before it's not first time you say and really it's annoying. When I go wrong due language problems I don't have any problem to recoginse it but, please let me arrive to the conclusions alone
