Hello - Back from LA...

.....via Seattle and San Francisco!

Things I have learned:

1. What´s going on in baseball. I understand it now. (Obviously for most spectators it appears that what´s going on is hot dogs and beers. Lots of them don´t watch half the game!)

2. The Seattle mascot ´The Mariner´s Moose´is premium quailty. Stompy the Elephant, of the Oakland Athletics, not so.

3. Americans can´t do clubbing. Avalon in L.A. is like Pacha London only much less cool. Any Londoner´s think that was possible? San Fran´s Ruby Skye is similarly naff.

4. American girls really do love our accents! If I was a single man, I tell ya.....

5. Katana (sp?) in LA does the best sushi I´ve ever had!

6. I could happily spend the rest of my life cruising Hollwood in a convertible

7. If we understood as well here that tips were a major part of service workers wages we might actually get some decent service.

8. I love America!:D

Eyes down for a week long stag do to Miami in July!8)

sounds awesome mate. Have been wracking my brains what to do for my 40th, which is next year and a trip to see Uncle Sam is high on the list, be it NYC, Vegas or the west coast?

just one thing who's stag do?? did i miss something? (again)

and do they really always leave their cars unlocked and walk out of a bar leaving 3 fingers of whisky undrunk??

Nah, stag do for one of my surburban footy lot, not me!

Vegas for a (old:lol:) lads holiday is a bit samey. We did a week for a stag do about five years ago and while it´s fine for those really into gambling, if you´re not it´s get´s a bit much after a few days.

I could of stayed in LA a lot longer and San Fran was great. Seattle was good too but the weather was worse than London!

Vegas is pants - its soul less, its too fekkin hot and its overrated.... as Kofi says unless you like all you can eat buffet's and gambling - theres naff all else to do...

I reckon Phil and I have the shortest visit to LV on record..... flew in mid morning straight from a flight from Hawaii to LA - went to bed - got up late went out to see the sights - saw the sights - came back to hotel - slept for another couple of hours - got up at 6am checked out and drove off to find Area 51 and stayed there in a trailer park to look for UFO's and drink whiskey with scary white supremacist rednecks........ that was horrific - but better than LV imo!!!

San Fran is fab - definitely worth a butchers ...... we drove from San Diego to San Fran and that drive up the Pacific coast is stunning......

LoL what are you doing watching the leagues worst team in baseball!! No wonder why everyones just sitting around! Come to Boston to watch a proper baseball game (red sox ) that is.Youll find the crowd a lot more energetic!..In fact Coco our center feilder just charged the mound last week and there ended up being a brawl on the pitchers mound.Entertainment to say the least.

As far as clubs hook up with the underground guys that loom around. If your still there find the record shops they will tell you where to go. Dont get sucked into those commercial clubs ----)Assuming there like some commercial clubs here on the eastcoast then i agree they suck.

Glad your having fun!!California girls are hot but watch out for some of them they can be fake as hell and there well trained haha.

The Pitcher stands on the pitchers mound!

Coco got into it with the shortsop the previous night and words were exchanged as well Then a play later in the game coco took out the shortstop (his feet-legs like a leg sweep sliding into second) on an attempt to steal second base which sparked some flame between the two.The next game which is in the clip you can see the pitcher from the rays retaliate by hitting coco in the leg at his first at bat.Thats what got cocos mind flaring (plus it hurts) and why he charged the mound.

Buckley - my other half and I are doing the West Coast next month, hiring a convertible and starting at Las Vegas via Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Yosemite, San Francisco, LA, San Diego and lots in between.

What places would you really recommend, as in bars, restaurants, beaches, clubs...?

Welcome back pal. We did the L.A. to San Fran thing a few years ago. Loved L.A., prefered San Fran. Thought the peeps in SF were amazing.

Soooooo right about the clubbing thing, did they drop a load of R 'N' B in between half decent tracks, while trying to writhe seductively

And the accent thing  HOLY CRAP  Its borderline embarassing, you don't really need to say much at all, only speak ! Its AWESOME
:!::!::lol:

I'm going to San Francisco and Las Vegas next year look forward to it.

I think you doing it the right way around, loved both, but 3/4 days in each was plenty, and i'll definately go back again.

Hey Buckster!

Glad you had a good time in the Motherland. Spot on about baseball

As an East coast native, I find the left coast to be an entirely odd place (Seattle and LA especially... quite liked San Diego). It's another world out there, isn't it?!
