Google to the rescue again  ;)

I wasn't even sure what Sil meant by a needlework shop :? My (never been used) sewing kit consists of the needles and cotton we nicked from Pacha El Hotel

So a needlework shop is basically a shop that sells lots of materials and cotton and stuff like that??

It can mean that, but I think it can also mean embroidery and needlepoint. JAs I remember John Lewis has lots of stuff for that.

I'll also ask Stephen's mum becuse she does lots of needlepoint

Yes, needlepoint!

I will investigate those shops. I hope she doesn't insist in making me a set of towel with a nice english needlepoint patern on them 8O

How did you ever get your Needlework and Homemaker badges?

I have to wear a suit and shoes to work up here and thats in Marketing. As for nights out, only a few places will let you in with trainers on, even if its a proper dance night.

Must be a London thing:lol:

What!! You have to wear shoes.

Definately not a London thing, i think your less likely to get in clubs here too wearing shoes.

Having to wear shoes would put me off going out.

Yip, alot of places just simply won't let you in with trainers on, and I'm not just talking the more 'commercial' places.

Up until about 6 years ago, you actually had to wear proper trousers to alot of places to...no joke. Its getting more relaxed now thank god!

For work I have 3 pairs that I have been using for the past 3 years. I used to wear Adidas and Puma originals to work (I am a huge Dassler fan; Rudy and Adi) when I worked in the office. However, for the past year, I have been in direct sales, and hence, I cannot show up wearing fancy Adidas or Puma. It will just not cut the mustard in the industrial and biotech world.

For going out I have 5 pairs, 2-Adidas Originals, 1-Puma Original, 1-Bunker and 1-funky Bacco Bucci. Contrary to my work stuff, all my going out shoes are colorful.

When I go out hiking and especially shooting practice, I exclusively sport the Oakley Elite Special Forces SI boots. They are superbly comfortable (easily on par with any sneaker), and can take massive abuse. I would highly recommend these to anyone.
