Chewie thats great hun... but pistachios are FATTENING 8O

Like all nuts, pistachio nuts are an excellent source of protein. Unsalted pistachios have a high-potassium low-sodium content which helps to normalise blood pressure, maintain water balance in the body and strengthen muscles. Pistachio nuts are also a good source of vitamin E which boosts the immune system and alleviates fatigue. They contain lesser amounts of magnesium, phosphorous, iron and zinc.

Most pistachio nuts are salted and because of the high sodium content should only be eaten in small quantities. But unsalted, they are an excellent addition to any diet, particularly vegan or vegetarian.

How ya doin' Chewie? I'm on your case to keep an eye on you. ;) You progressing with the running?

I don't usually go around beating the Anti-Smoking drum, but, a little story that might help those trying to stop smokin' the weed;

My dad smoked all his life and died at 37 years old after several heart attacks. His dad who also smoked died 2 months after with the same heart condition. Out of my dads family of 6 brothers and sisters only one of my aunties has lived past retiring age. 8O

I lost my older brother to the same heart condition 4 years ago. :cry: So, myself and my younger brother (who don't smoke) and sister (who does) went for checkups and were all found to have high blood pressure and were put on mild medication for it. However, my younger sister had loads of problems trying to get her blood pressure down. She was eventually sent for a scan only to be told that at some time in the past she has had a minor heart attack without her knowing about it. 8O She still smokes and I can't persuade her to stop. :evil:

I smoked for around 23 years 8O but gave it up around '92/3 and took up running seriously. I have done 9 Great North Runs (usually 'round the 1hr 30mins mark, faster than the majority of club runners :P ) and loads of local races for an Athletic Club, I still hold the Club record for running 54 races in one year..........and this is AFTER giving up smoking. You CAN reverse the effects of smoking to a degree, takes about 5 years for the body to regenerate, although there's bound to be some permanent damage. This is not stressed enough in the anti-smoking campaigns. I had done loads of serious cycling for years before giving up. So I have always done something to keep fit. Was at the Docs this morning having a blood sample sent for my annual checkup. The Doc told me that all my running and cycling has probably saved my life. 8O

I still run a couple of times per week and even take the running kit when abroad (except Ibiza :lol:). Yesterday I ran 10 miles on my own in 1hr 50mins and I'm gonna be doing 5-6 miles tonight with my running partner..............and I was 54 years old last week!!! 8O 8O 8O ..........if I can do it so can YOU!!!..............so come on all my Ibiza Spotlight friends, get out there and DO SOMETHING to keep fit. It only needs to be 20 minutes of getting out of breath 3 times per week...............and I don't mean humping or whackin' off. :roll: :lol:

If this post has encouraged/inspired at least one person to give up the weed and get fit then I'll be very happy. :D :D :D

Good man! Speed is not the essence, just being out and steady away is all that's needed, 20 mins minimum. :D
Therapautic, mentally relaxing and time to think. If I lived closer I could be your running partner and mentor. :lol:
